A Facelift/repost oopsie !

Weaver's Revolt (after Kathe Kollwitz)

Kathe Kollwitz’ 1898 etching "Revolt by the Gates of a Park," depicts a group of weavers uprising. Workers hurl cobble stones and axes toward the gate of the manufacturer’s home in protest of poor working conditions and low wages. I isolated one of her frail figures, "weaving" them into an assemblage of textiles and decorative art motifs inspired by the Gilded Age––an unprecedented time of wealth inequality, rigid social hierarchy, and rampant corporate corruption. The social tensions of this era parallel contemporary discord, evidenced by today’s concentration of wealth, billionaire class, and systems of power.

Institutional Bric-a-Brac is alive. Drawing on the carnivalesque as a moment when social hierarchies are briefly suspended, the work enters a dialogue around radical humanism and economic populism as forces that cut across social divides in favor of co-creation and community 🌾

The form functions like an exquisite co**se: wrought-iron–inspired legs support a planter barrel containing wheatgrass, a symbol of hardship, crowned by a circus tent façade. From the exterior, a few blades of wheat emerge from the circus-tent-top, a celebration of life in difficult environments where survival is commonplace but visibility and success remains rare

2025 brought change and expansion in multiple directions, but above all, so many special people now so close to me. Thank you to all who supported me in my projects and listened to me endlessly dissect and analyze and bang my head on the wall. I struggled but also I exceeded my own expectations in certain ways.
Special shoutouts to 📷📞🤳 ♥️🌾🛠️ for the 🚗 for the crit and the super amazing staff at for making Institutional Bric-A-Brac a fully realized project 🥲 this is a little sneak-peek of my metal baby
