We would love to introduce you to our fantastic Artists in Residency! Every Monday we will spotlight one of our incredible Artists here, for you to have the opportunity to get to know Anver a bit more. Today's Artist Spotlight is Rae!
Rae Boyadjis is a performance artist, aerialist and writer specializing in aerial dance, conceptual visual narratives, and live poetry. They have been an enthusiastic member of NYC's professional aerial, immersive theater and poetry communities for over a decade. They are Resident Aerial Advisor for Speakeasy Dollhouse Productions (The Illuminati Ball, Ziegfeld's Midnight Frolic, Speakeasy Dollhouse) as well as resident aerialist of The Poetry Brothel NYC, of which they are a founding member. In 2020, they unveiled LAZARUS, an aerial apparatus and art piece of their own design and conception. Past clients, collaborators and colleagues include Amanda Palmer (The Dresden Dolls, 8 ft. Records), Dark Horse Comics, Streb, Cynthia von Buhler (Speakeasy Dollhouse Productions, Smoosh & Smoosh Entertainment), Electric Forest Festival, The Poetry Society of New York, The Poetry Brothel, House of Yes, Company XIV, Eric Schmalenberger's Blunderland, LUST NYC, The Diamond Horseshoe, Q***r Coney at Sideshows by the Seashore, The Weylin, Circus Now!, Adrian Buckmaster, Meatcandy Q***r Collective, Nick Cannons's Wild 'N' Out, Governor's Island, Sarah Lawrence College, the New York City Dance Parade, Brooklyn Boulders, and The Muse.
