I’m showing my work at tonight at exhibition, TIERRA FUTURA: Boricua Land Futures, open in Providence RI on Thursday March 5, from 6-9pm at WaterFire Center for the Arts! I will be showing pieces from Atabey & El Litoral photo series. The exhibition will be on view until March 29th. Come through & support 🫶🏽

TIERRA FUTURA is both a solo exhibition by artist Shey Rivera Ríos and a group exhibition of 22 artists from the archipelago of Borikén (Puerto Rico) and its diasporas across the United States. This is the first time in the past decade that a contemporary art exhibition of all Puerto Rican artists is presented in New England. The artworks are vessels of land-based memory, rural identity, eco-feminisms, q***r Boricua joy, cultural rituals, and tributes to significant ancestors. 🌿Swipe to see the entire list of incredible artists who are part of this show!

There will also be artworks and additional prints for sale at the WaterFire Arts Center during the month of March, so you can support Boricua artists by owning an artwork from this show. There’s also additional programming, with workshops, performances and artist talks throughout the month. Hope to see you there!

📅 Thursday March 5, 6-9pm
📌WaterFire Center for the Arts, 475 Valley St, Providence RI

Happy birthday bella 🩷

I don't know if you know just how inspiring you are - everything that you've accomplished, breaking down barriers for female artists & business owners. Love the way you own your voice, honor your mother's legacy and make space for Boricua stories en la diaspora.

I'm so excited for this next chapter for you. Wishing you so many more blessings in the years to come.

I hope you have the best birthday weekend 🙏🏼

Raíces, my latest exhibition, is now open at Gallery 1832 .inc

This project includes my various bodies of work — storytelling & ancestral memory to celebrate women of color as the roots that build & heal.

The exhibition includes Atabey: a series honoring three goddesses - women of Nipmuc & Afro-Taína descent. Created in collaboration with the women featured, this work centers Indigenous presence, power, & connection to land. Alvilda, Brittney, & Jasmine, the featured women in this work are artists and activists whose creative & political work is rooted in community and making lasting change. This project is a tribute to Indigenous women whose voices and presence are too often ignored.

Thank you all for your support on my storytelling journey. I’m stepping into faith and trusting my voice more 🙏🏼

🗓 Opening Oct 23, 4:30–7pm
📍 Gallery 1832 at LabCentral
On view through Jan 2026
