The Boston Evzones

The Boston Evzones The modern Evzone uniform embodies centuries of national struggles and times of peace. The modern Evzone uniform is derived from the ancient Greek cloak.

The uniform originated with the fighters of Homer’s time and developed with the addition of the kilt and clogs into a specific type of uniform during the period of the Turkish occupation. Later, during the Greek Revolution of 1821 for national independence and freedom from the Ottoman Empire, the uniform was adopted by the revolutionary war-leaders and fighters, as an official national costume. Th

is honoured uniform was also worn by the glorious Evzone Regiments and Battalions in the Balkan Wars, the Asia Minor Expedition, and the First and Second World Wars.
