We’re growing our teaching team!

Wild Rivers Dance is looking for a few great people to join our faculty and help us expand what we’re able to offer our community.

We’d love to hear from people with experience in ballet, jazz, contemporary, modern, hip hop, tap, musical theatre, acro and creative movement, as well as instructors interested in teaching adult dance, senior movement, fitness, strength and conditioning, yoga, Pilates, barre, stretching, mobility, or other movement-based classes.

We’re looking for people who are dependable, positive, creative and genuinely enjoy working with people. Some positions may be working with children and teens, while others may focus entirely on adults.

Teaching experience is wonderful, but don’t count yourself out if you don’t have a traditional dance-teacher background. If you have strong skills in something you think would be a great addition to our studio and the right personality to work with our community, we are absolutely willing to train and mentor the right people.

We care about excellent instruction, but we care just as much about creating a welcoming, encouraging environment where people of all ages and abilities feel comfortable learning and moving.

We are working on something new at Wild Rivers Dance that I am really excited about.

JOY IN MOTION will be a NEW dance class especially for kids who might need a little more support to feel comfortable and successful in a traditional dance class.

Maybe your child is autistic, has Down syndrome, ADHD, developmental or physical disabilities, sensory needs, or just needs a smaller class with a little more patience and flexibility. We would love to have them.

This will be a real dance class with music, movement, coordination, learning and structure, but without any pressure that every child has to learn or participate in exactly the same way.

Some kids might jump right in. Some might need to watch for a while first. Some might need breaks. Some might do things a little differently. That's okay! I really want this to be a place where kids can come dance, have fun, make friends and feel good about themselves.

Right now we are putting classes together and trying to figure out what ages, days and times would work best for the families who need this. So if this sounds like something your child would enjoy, please reach out to me!Tell me a little about your child, their age, and what you're looking for. A word about our Nutcracker Auditions..

I've gotten some calls asking what it's going to be like.

For the Dancing:
It's kind of like taking a class. We do a warm up together and I give some simple movement to get an idea of who I have. I might give some simple choreography, slowly, to see if the participants can follow along. That gives me an idea of where I can best place each person. The prerequisite for being in the show is that you have a good attitude and try. You don't have to be amazing. Just try. Everyone who shows up with a cooperative attitude who gives it their best will get in. It's more of a placement than anything. So don't be afraid, just give it a try!!

For Acting:
The show has no spoken dialogue. It's physical acting, like pantomime. Almost like a silent movie. Again, a good attitude and the ability to give it a go are all you need.

If you are willing to get along with others, cooperate, and try your best... You're in! I will have a place for you!

A word about advanced roles:
Some parts are technically more challenging than others. There are dancers who dance all year, working on turns, leaps, all the hard things... They put in a lot of work to get to the ability level that those roles require. So if you want those lead roles and advanced dances... Show up to class! Keep showing up. Join the dance company and learn alllll the stuff! Keep trying and you will see that year after year you will be rewarded with larger and harder roles as you are able to take them on.

Summer is winding down and you know what that means...

🎄🐭 IT’S NUTCRACKER TIME AGAIN!🐭🎄

Somehow it’s already time to gather the mice, soldiers, snowflakes, party guests, dolls, angels, dancers, actors and assorted tiny (and not-so-tiny) chaos-makers and turn them into a Nutcracker cast. 😂

Auditions for the 12th Annual Wild Rivers Coast Nutcracker are September 5th!

And YES, this is for adults AND kids!

❤️ You do NOT have to be an experienced dancer to audition. We need dancers and actors, ages 6 through adult, with roles for different ages, abilities, personalities and experience levels.

If you’ve always secretly wanted to be in The Nutcracker but thought, “Oh, I’m not really a ballet person…” come anyway.

If you ARE a ballet person… definitely come. 🩰

If you’re a theater person, come.
If you're a Hip Hop person, a Jazz person, or a Modern Dance person, come!

If you have a child who is wildly dramatic in your living room and clearly needs an audience larger than your immediate family… please, for everyone’s sake, bring them. 😂 You can thank us later!

Over the past 12 years, our Nutcracker has grown into a pretty wonderful Wild Rivers Coast tradition. We’ve watched little kids come in for their first Nutcracker and grow into beautiful advanced dancers, teachers and even professional dancers. We’ve also had adults step onstage for the first time and discover just how much fun it is to be part of a production like this.

You really never know where one audition might lead. ❤️

SOOO FUN!!! We had such a blast hosting Molebogeng, Karabo, and Nolo from Zintle School Of Dance South Africa!!! These girls brought such an amazing energy to our studio!!
