TODAY IS THE DAY!
SD State Championship at University Plains Speedway!
Who is gonna take home the 1 of a kind 1st place trophy?? (1 per class). (Thanks to Monica Morris and https://www.facebook.com/funwithflags.sd for the help with the awesome trophies!)
Drivers meeting at 1130am, hot laps at noon with races to follow.

13+: $5.00 each
Pit passes: $20 each.

Today is the day....RACE DAY 1 of 2!! Come out for a full day, or even 2, of racing! Saturday bormal times: 130 drivers meeting, hots atv2 with heats and features to follow.
Tomorrow....the SD State Championshipvwith drivers meeting at 1130am!
Grandstands: 12 and under free
13+: $5.00 each. Pit passes $20.

August. 22nd: normal times. Drivers meeting at 1:30pm. Points Race.
August. 23rd: Drivers meeting at 11:30am.

We have decided that we wanted to give all of our regular classes that chance of the championship trophy.
For the first time I am aware of, this includes Rookies, Mowers & Stingers.
(As of today, I haven't decided if I will post a picture of the trophy pre race day or not but yes it is Mt. Rushmore.)
I will be putting up a poll today to decide on lap counts for the championship. Majority wins so make sure to choose an option!

Today's the day!! Pits open @ 9am. Spectator Gates @ 11am. Drivers meeting @ 130 by the tree (bring raceceivers!). Green flag drops at 2 for hotlaps with heats and races to follow!
Pit passes: $20 each. Grandstand spectators: under 12 free
13+: $5.00 per person.
Michelle and Kurt will have awesome concessions as always! And don't forget to find Mama Wulff and say hi as she came to visit today also!!

Track prep is underway and things are looking great for our races on Saturday!!
Looks to be warm but still 20+ degrees cooler than our Maxxis races a week and a half ago!
Registration/pits open at 9am, drivers meeting at 1:30pm, hot laps start at 2pm.
We can't wait to see everyone again!!

Took me a few days to finally get through some of the pictures from this past weekends Maxxis Races (and Friday practice).
It was HOT.....beyond hot really.
I know Saturday had a heat index of of about 116 and 70%+ humidity and minimal wind.
We added extra canopies for shade both over the grid and in the infield. A local racing family donated water to be given away all day (yes we know who, yes some people know but they did not not want or need the recognition as it's just what many of us would have done as well!)

So many people deserve thanks for the weekend and I'll miss many but I'll try!
First and foremost....our crew at UPS.... Brett Wulff spent 10 nights in a row at the track (after already working all day) & gave y'all an amazing track surface!
Our corner workers, Dan & Dylan plus Devon with Maxxis, our EMT Cookie, our crazy track mascot...I mean flagman, Jason Cooper.
Robin and Ben for manning the merch trailer. Michelle Mortensen, Kurt & T for the awesome concessions. Brannigan Mortensen, Cody Wetzel and Isaiah for helping with various things throughout the weekend. Don and Justin for various tasks throughout the week when available.
Everyone at Maxxis Midwest. Jessie Miller Russell , Shawn and Riley for tech. Angela Hansen for running the grid smoothly.
Every racer, crew member, family member & friend for coming out to our track and being soooooo awesome on checking on eachother throughout the weekend.
Overall, a truly amazing weekend!

ATTENTION!!!!!
After speaking to the Maxxis peeps, races are running as planned this weekend! We are all very aware of the heat.
As always, we will do everything we can to keep everyone safe. Keep an eye on each other as well!
