We regret to announce that this year's festival has been cancelled. We had hoped that the COVID-19 situation would not escalate to this point, yet here we are. We are committed to returning in 2021 and making the festival bigger and better than ever. Thank you for your ongoing interest and support. Be well.

Coronavirus non-update #1: As of now there are no plans to cancel SBBF due to the current outbreak. That said, we are performing in a county-operated facility and will obviously need to adhere to any restrictions that may be imposed. At the moment, however, we are planning for a great event and we look forward to seeing y'all May 9.

Bands participating in SBBF 2020 include Broad Street Brass Band, Jericho Brass, Brass Band of Huntsville, Roman Festival Brass, Brass Band of Nashville, and Georgia Brass Band. The exact schedule of performances will be released soon, but plan now to be there May 9 to hear every one of these fine bands.

We have some exciting updates to share concerning this year's festival. First of all, Terry Everson will be our featured soloist for the evening concert with Georgia Brass Band. We will also assemble a band made up of members of all participating bands to accompany Terry on a solo item and play the finale to the evening concert. Stay tuned for regular updates and plan to join us on May 9 at the Lassiter Concert Hall.

Plans for SBBF 2020 are a bit behind, but rest assured the festival is taking place as scheduled on May 9, 2020 at Lassiter Concert Hall. More info will be shared in the coming weeks. All bands who participated last year have been re-invited. We are also casting the net further to see if we can expand the number of guest bands to 10. Please drop a line if your band is interested. We are planning for guest bands to perform during the day and for Georgia Brass Band to perform in the evening with our featured guest soloist. It will be a full day of brass awesomeness. Please plan to attend.

The weather for festival day is looking a bit grim. Good thing all the performances are INDOORS! No amount of rain is going to spoil the fun. Our forecast calls for an excellent day of music making and the sooner you get there the more of it you will get to experience. Plus, you will have more time to dry off.

Also appearing at the SBBF is the Jericho Brass from Chattanooga.

Jericho Brass of Chattanooga is a British-style brass band that has provided brass band music to audiences since 1998. A volunteer ensemble, Jericho Brass is made up of professional and college trained musicians from the Tri-State area. The group performs regularly at civic functions, churches, schools and other public venues. Within the membership of Jericho Brass is a smaller outreach ensemble called Brassworks. This group of eight/nine members spreads the joy of brass music when the full band is not available. Over the past 20 years, the two groups have made no less than 632 public performances. That’s an average of 32 programs a year!

Participants of the Deep South (GA) Brass Band and two Ashland (KY) Brass Band Festivals, Jericho Brass has also performed concerts in Memphis, Nashville, Atlanta, Abingdon (VA), Greenville (SC), Charleston (WV), and many venues in North Georgia and Alabama. The band has also made two concert tours to England, performing in Dobcross, Brighouse, Elland, Oxford, Bournemouth, London, Wigston, and Dublin, Ireland. The band’s smaller ensemble, Brassworks, has toured Mississippi and Kentucky during the past four years, performing for schools and communities. In the summer of 2016, Jericho Brass performed at Chattanooga’s Riverbend Festival. This year we are privileged to perform in the Southeastern Brass Band Festival.
