Hey look at that. It’s another . Ya know, lately it seems that every time I see a listing for a for sale the first thing that’s mentioned is the weight. Is that really where we’re at these days, how much it weighs is a priority? What a bunch of wimps. 🤪

. Back around 25 years ago my guitar collecting reached the pinnacle of stupidity when I owned two guitars that I couldn’t even play. One was a lefty 1966 SG Special and the other was this really clean 1965 SG Standard Tenor. This exact guitar was featured in the color section of the book “Gibson Electrics-The Classic Years”. The photo was taken before I owned it. Anyway, I had both of those “SGs that I couldn’t play” for about a year and then sold them off at a slight profit as I started to slowly get away from guitar hoarding.

It’s and I’m loving this pairing right now. 1959 and a little Kay amp of the same vintage. Crunchy warmth and just enough volume to get the guitar’s top vibrating into the sweet spot between sustain and feedback without having it take off howling. Highly recommended. 👍🏼

Went to Love of Fuzz with Delaney Hafener today to check out a 1981 he has there. I brought along my 1976 for comparison and while the Goldtop is a sweet guitar my Deluxe eclipses it without a doubt. I snapped a few photos of some of the extra cool stuff lurking in the back room while I was there.

04- One Dozen Thrice
This one is a solo tune, with three 12 string guitar tracks and a bass track. I started recording it towards the end of my week in June but was getting burnt out and was very unhappy with the results. After a few days of rest, some more practicing and a new arrangement I ended up with something I’m very pleased with.
1967 Epiphone FT150 Bard 12 string
1967 Gibson ES335 12 String
1966 Gibson EB2D

03- Is That freedom Rock? (Well, Turn it Up Man!)
The first Tummy Rub track, this started to give off a sort of 70s Southern Rock vibe to me as I was working on it, hence the title.
1974 Fender Stratocaster
1973 Fender Telecaster Custom
1976 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe
