A delight for WCS (27 players) to collaborate with the Purchase Symphony Orchestra, Purchase Chorus and New Choral Society under the inspiring direction of maestra Mina Kim at the Purchase Performing Arts Center Friday evening in Beethoven’s majestic 9th Symphony and Valerie Coleman’s unity-inspired “Umoja” for a sold-out audience.
WCS and its member-soloists look forward to completing our cycle of Beethoven’s Symphonies and Concerti in the 2027 season, in recognition of the 200th anniversary of the composer’s passing.

🎶 Experience an afternoon of orchestral color and brilliance 🎶

Alan Murray , Executive and Artistic Director of Westchester Chamber Soloists, describes the February 8 program as “a kaleidoscopic listening experience,” bringing together contemporary American works and classical masterpieces.

🎶 The orchestra welcomes back Stephen Moshman as guest conductor and composer. Known for his engaging, informal commentary, Moshman offers audiences insight and historical context alongside a finely tuned performance.

The program also features WCS trumpet soloist Michael McSpedon in Hummel’s Trumpet Concerto—continuing the orchestra’s tradition of spotlighting concerto soloists from within its own ensemble.
