Exposed Courage

Exposed Courage Look for the opportunity... to Expose Your Courage. This is a human trait; it is learned… and rather inevitable. The combination was powerful.

The Motivation: Often in life we allow the idea "I'm suppose to" and the need to "do it right" shape us into who we think we should be. While making decisions, based on the two silent mantras mentioned above, we accidentally move farther away from knowing ourselves. Understand this is not a terrible thing that we should feel ashamed of (this would only add another layer to uncover when we decide t

o walk down the road of self discovery). The Origin: 'Exposed Courage' looks at the transformation that happens when you combine body paint and a camera. Over the years I have had the opportunity to paint numerous people for either performance or living art. While doing this I watch the client go from the uncomfortable feeling of someone invading their personal bubble, to relaxing and accepting the painting process and then ultimately they become their version of the character they were painted to be. The Question: "What if this provides just enough camouflage to rebel against the unintentionally confined person we have become?"
This is a different concept than the camouflage of acting; there is only a thin layer of paint and your emotional interpretation of how you look. What comes out is accessed by seeing yourself in a different light… painted. Rather than painting our lovely models into any one character, I had them chose different painting styles that they were attracted to. The Theory: Looking yourself in the face and experiencing a glimmer of time without the sound of your normal self doubt rustling in your mind; this maybe all you need to see who you are a little clearer. The experiences that cause us to step outside of ourselves and honestly react emotionally to who we are; expose our truer form… Look for the opportunity. We, originally, combined forces with the gifted photographer Jill Solomon to capture this transformation on film. Jill is our primary photographer. https://www.facebook.com/jillsolomonphoto/?pnref=lhc

Currently, we attend a variety of events, festivals and hold public workshops.
