Handbuilding for Beginners with Gill Travers
Starts October 11 | 1:30–4:30 PM
Build your clay skills through pinching, slabs, molds, coils, glazing, and more in this six-week beginner-friendly class.

Lasercut Textile Jewelry with Jenine Bressner
October 17 | 12–4 PM
Turn colorful lasercut textiles into jewelry and small-scale wearable sculpture while exploring color, form, and composition. Open to adults and teens 15+.

Introduction to Bookbinding with Hanna Rashidi
Starts October 18 | 10 AM–1 PM
Learn foundational bookbinding techniques, including long stitch, Japanese stab binding, and accordion folding, during this two-week class.

Spooky Ceramics: Teen Handbuilding with Elissa Cano
Starts October 25 | 11 AM–1 PM
Get into the Halloween spirit with two weeks of clay! Teens ages 13–17 will create a skull and ghostly candle cover while exploring handbuilding, surface decoration, and underglazing. Instruction is available in English and Spanish.

There’s still time to experience Cicely Carew: BeLOVEd before it closes at Fuller Craft Museum on September 20.

In this immersive, site-specific installation, Carew brings together ethereal sculpture, sound, video, and a large-scale wall composition to create a space for reflection, spirituality, and exploration. Moving between earth and air, the elemental and the transcendent, BeLOVEd explores memory, prayer, ritual, transformation, and our connection to the world around us.

Step inside, slow down, and experience BeLOVEd while you still can.

Opening October 17, Molly Hatch: Agency transforms the Museum’s Atrium Gallery into a monumental jewelry box. Created specifically for Fuller Craft Museum, this immersive installation by internationally recognized ceramic artist Molly Hatch reimagines the visual language of Victorian jewelry through a contemporary lens.

Oversized ceramic bows, snakes, swallows, arrows, and celestial forms reclaim imagery once associated with prescribed notions of femininity, recasting these familiar symbols as bold expressions of strength, autonomy, resilience, and liberation.

By dramatically shifting their scale and meaning, Hatch invites us to look again at the decorative forms we think we know and consider how craft can reclaim history, challenge inherited ideas, and give familiar symbols new power.

On Saturday, October 3, hear directly from the artist behind Stories on the Planet: Asagi Maeda, followed by a Q+A with Fuller Craft Museum Chief Curator and Artistic Director Beth McLaughlin.

The event will also feature a silent auction for one of Maeda’s beloved Bento Box jewelry sets and a book signing.

Join artist Ana Popescu for Ceramic Printmaking on Thursday, October 1, from 1 – 4 PM. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to create one-of-a-kind clay prints using underglaze and newsprint paper transfers, experimenting with stencils, textures, mark-making, and layered compositions.

Open to beginner, intermediate, and advanced makers, this workshop is a great opportunity to try something new or add another technique to your ceramic practice.

Join artist and educator Marisa Finos this fall for a six-week ceramics class exploring the wheel-throwing process from start to finish. Learn techniques for creating cylinders, bowls, and plates, then trim and glaze your finished pieces.

Whether you’re completely new to the wheel or looking to build your skills, this class is a great opportunity to get hands-on in Fuller Craft Museum’s Ceramics Studio. Beginners are welcome and no experience is necessary!

From Brockton to Bilbao!

A work from Fuller Craft Museum’s Permanent Collection is currently on view across the Atlantic in Ruth Asawa: A Retrospective at Guggenheim Bilbao Museoa in Bilbao, Spain.

Created around 1960, Asawa’s Untitled Sculpture is made from tied galvanized metal wire, a technique central to the internationally celebrated artist’s practice. Asawa often drew inspiration from the natural world, transforming wire into intricate, dimensional forms that explore shape, space, and movement.

We’re proud to have this remarkable work from Fuller Craft Museum’s collection included in the retrospective, on view in Bilbao through September 13, 2026.
