After competing against 110 kids from all over the U.S., going six rounds, Makenna Hooks made it to the Top 13 in her event, Program Oral Interp, at the Last Chance Qualifiers Competition, and is Bristow's SECOND NATIONAL QUALIFIER THIS YEAR. This is HUGE. She will join Eva Roberts along with 6,000 other competitors in Iowa this June to compete with the best of the best!!! GO, GO, Makenna! This is her FIRST YEAR in speech and debate by the way. 🔥💥🔥

Students will perform a selection of pieces from competition and an original student written 10 min play will make its debut as well! Don't miss the award ceremony and our bake sale auction in the lobby of the Freeland! Come and support Bristow's Speech and Debate team and Theatre department! ⭐⭐⭐

The Filstrup Resident Artists are headed to Bristow! This Thursday, April 18th, join us for “An Evening with Tulsa Opera” at the Freeland Center for the Performing Arts / Bristow, OK. Our wonderful artists will present a concert of selections from the best of opera and Broadway. Plus, the Bristow High School choir will be joining them onstage for a special performance! This concert is free and open to the public. Donations will be taken at the door to benefit the fine arts programs at Bristow Public Schools.

Bristow brought 8 to state and claimed some hardware! I'm so crazy proud of these kids. State is TOUGH. Three loooong days of pushing yourself to the limits both physically and emotionally, and these kids shined. They are exceptional human beings; funny, loving, and powerful. It's an honor to lead this Crew. They teach me more than I could ever teach them. Thank you to Jeffrey Roberts for judging and for his newly appointed title as "speech mom," and a massive thank you to Abigail Colvin for jumping in with both feet and helping me corral and wrangle this weekend. You are the real MVP. And of course thank you to the parents that supported by coming to watch awards, provide us with food, and cheer us on. Life is lovely.
