The rocker is finished. It is nice and sturdy and quite comfortable. I tried my hand at using some upholstery fabric and foam to make my own seat and back pads. They have some issues but not bad for my first time.

I did more work on the rocker today. I fixed the broken stretchers and legs that were broken and glued the back in place. It is clamped together in the garage so the glue can dry. Next, I need to figure out the seat pad. We decided we don’t want refinish it as we like the olde, worn look. Besides, it is for the porch so I don’t want to put a lot of effort on something that will be sitting outside.

Here is a side project I am working. We bought this rocker at an antique shop a few weeks back. I should have taken a closer look when I bought it because when I got it home, I found some issues. Yes, the bungee cords are holding it together. So, I decided to see if I can restore it. Stay tuned. I will post as it progresses.

It has been a while since I posted anything. I have been doing stuff but did not post. I made 3 more attempts at ring making. 2 of them blew up again so I decided to use a different blank. I finally had success today. Pictures will be posted tomorrow. Things I have been working on. The shelves pictured here. The cast iron toys were on my office floor so I built a shelf for them. My snoopy collection continues to grow an I needed more shelf space there as well. So, clearly, they are done and mounted. The other thing is that I helped a dear friend make a pen. I did not get a picture. I asked her to send me one so if I get it, I will post. So, stay tuned. Pictures of my first successful rich are coming and another project in an upcoming post.

I made my first attempt at a ring this weekend but it did not turn out well. The first piece blew and became useless. The second broke free of the sacrifice stock and had the be re-glued. We will see how it turns out next weekend. Stay tuned.

Final completed project for the weekend. A mixed acrylic and burl blank on a satin chrome aromatherapy necklace. Not much acrylic survived the turning but I like the spot that did. Adds a little class to the wood. Just shows the I never know how they will look when done. There was a lot more acrylic when I started.
