This summer is going to ROCK!!! BTC is excited to announce auditions for our summer production, School of Rock, Young Actors Edition!!

Audition Dates:

Sunday, May 3, 2:00–9:00PM
Location: Children’s Workshop, Warren, RI
Callbacks (if needed): Monday, May 4, 2026

Preparation:

Actors ages 7-19 are welcome to audition!

Rehearsals:
Sundays: 3:00-6:00PM
Mondays: 6:00-8:00PM (8:30PM once school is out)
Thursdays: 6:00-8:30PM beginning in July.

Tech Week (mandatory): Week of July 26, 2026.
Shows will be Thursday, July 30, 2026-Sunday, August 2, 2026.

Participation Fee:
A $150 participation fee applies to cast members 16 (at time of auditions) and younger. If there is more than one child from the same family cast in the show, the participation fee is $250 per family.

The East Bay Creates. The East Bay Performs. The East Bay… waits.

Across Rhode Island, theatre lights glow. From historic playhouses to vibrant black boxes, our state is rich with performance spaces that fuel local economies, cultivate artists, and bring people together. And yet, here in the East Bay of Rhode Island, home to extraordinary theatre groups, dancers, musicians, educators, and visual artists, there is not a single permanent performance venue. (The old 2nd Story Building in Warren remains shuttered.)

This is the gap the ARC – Artists Rooted in Collaboration exists to close.

A permanent Performing Arts center in the East Bay is not just a building. It is an economic engine. Audiences mean full restaurants, busy shops, and lively streets. Artists working locally spend locally. Families attend shows, linger downtown, and return again and again. The arts create foot traffic that no single event ever could.

It is also a cultural anchor. A shared home for theatre, music, dance, and visual art gives our region a heartbeat. It tells young people that creativity belongs here. It tells artists they do not have to leave to be seen. It creates space for new voices, bold work, and cross-disciplinary collaboration that simply cannot thrive without a stage to stand on.

And perhaps most importantly, it is a place of connection. In a time when so much feels fragmented, live performance gathers us in the same room, breathing the same story, sharing the same moment. It builds empathy. It builds community. It builds pride in place.

Rhode Island understands the value of the arts. The East Bay deserves that same investment.

The ARC is a collective vision rooted in collaboration, possibility, and belief in this community’s creative power. We are ready to build a home where imagination has a permanent address.

Our Bristol Theatre Company family came together to carol at the Kick Off to Christmas Community Aid Drive last night, and our hearts are SO full!

We had an amazing turnout, and it was truly wonderful to see our community gather in the spirit of the season. Even though we aren’t able to put on a Christmas show this year, being able to share Christmas love, joy, and music with all of you meant the world to us.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to sing with us and support this incredible event, and to the organizers for inviting us to spread some holiday cheer! Here’s to community, kindness, and the magic of Christmas! 🎅🏽🎄❄️

For those that have reached out, just a little note...Unfortunately we are unable to stage a production of Christmas Carol or any other holiday show this year. It has been even more difficult than ever to find a place that we can make work for a show and also afford. Fingers crossed that we are able to bring at least 2 shows to stage in 2026 so we can stay solvent enough to continue!

Please make sure that you get out there and support any and all community theater productions that you can! Your support is key to keeping the arts in our area!
