A little bit about our director: Samantha Gelnaw is a professional actress and proud member and active member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA), she has acted in many film and television productions most notably Silver Linings Playbook in which she had a principal role, in addition to her numerous roles on stage as well. Samantha graduated from Manhattanville College with a double major in Theatre Performance and English. She chose these two disciplines because they go hand in hand by telling the story and studying the story. As a director Samantha tries to instill these two ideas with her actors. Samantha is an active actress, teaching artist and director and has directed many shows as the program director at Lois Allen as well as at other venues in both NJ and NYC. At Lois Allen Samantha has created an involved theatre program that she cares very deeply about. Her goal is to grow Studio B into a wonderful place for students to harness their creative passions, to develop individual creativity, and to grow within a setting that encourages the teamwork necessary for both successful performances and performers. Hi and Welcome to Studio B a new performing arts studio exclusively in conjunction with Lois Allen School of the Dance. Studio B was created as a way to bring more theatre, acting and voice opportunities to both the existing Lois Allen family of parents and students and to new students and their families who want a wider variety of programming in the theatrical arts. This ramped up version of our wonderful musical theatre program will provide more audition opputunities, master classes and workshops as well as exciting new electives and more streamlined and polished training for both serious and amateur actors alike.
