For two years in a row, Dave Schneider, Tim Walsh, Chris Ruggiero and I have been working on a new recording project at GCR. The first pic is from our first session exactly two years ago today, and the second (badly stitched pano shot) was from exactly one year ago. Though it's a new years based project in that we always record right around jan 1, the band's theme is not NYE. More sessions to come right after new years. Three songs down, more to come. Exactly two years ago, on the day after thanksgiving, Jason Ruggiero , Chris Ruggiero and Masa Tsuyuki laid down five new instrumental tracks at GCR. This video shows the recording of two of them (with a cameo by Wiley). As was the case back in 1994, all songs were totally improvised one-off's. Those 90's sessions were recorded to stereo cassette and DAT, this session was recorded to 4track cassette.

We have updated our control room with our protools monitors now mounted above our meter bridge. HUGE improvement as it allows the engineer to always be centered on both the computer AND audio monitors at all times. But it also freed up space for our 8track 1/2” machine to permanently reside in the control room! Look at how happy our in-house GCR model, Tim Walsh looks!
