Hello, I’m hoping by tagging Dan Sykes and Sonic Healing Theatre, I will be able to reach those of you that would like to pay your respects. We all know that Dan was one of a kind, with too many qualities to list. He was well loved, and will be sorely missed by many in his community, and of course by his family.
It has taken some time for me to catch my breath. I have landed on the structure of how we will say, “until we meet again.”
Friday 8/15; 5:30- 8pm- We will host open studio hours for anyone in the community that wants to come into the studio space, be with his healing instruments, and have some quiet moments of reflection with us.
Saturday 8/16; We will hold a more formal memorial for our family and close friends of Dan at the studio.
Time and details to follow.
Keep praying for us as we navigate these rough waters. A good friend of Dan’s wrote a beautiful tribute. I love so many of the phrases in it. One that I am clinging to is near the end, referring to not having a map for this!
“He left us with no roadmap, but he left us with a compass….”
I’ve got my compass set toward honoring Dan, including his community, and ensuring that our family has the space to say goodbye in the way we need to.
