We strive to create exceptional and accessible original art using the techniques of woodcut, etching, screenprint, and letterpress. All of our artwork is hand drawn, all of our printing blocks handcrafted, and each impression individually printed by hand on an antique printing press in our studio. One of our employees is moving on, and while it’s hard to say goodbye, they left us with some really kind words:

“I really don’t want to have to do this for I have absolutely loved working under you and just being in the space that you have beautifully created. You are running an incredible business and truly are a great, kind boss. Working at Starfangled these past few months has been a gift.”

Now we are looking for someone new to join our small but mighty team as a Weekend Retail + Studio Manager.

It’s a part-time, in-person job with regular hours roughly every other weekend on Saturday 11-5 and Sunday 11- 4. With the occasional opportunity for extra hours, particularly in the summer.

Welp, I did it! After years of saying “maybe next year,” this was the year I FINALLY applied to the Louie Awards and I’m SO, SO excited to be named a finalist!

The Louie Awards are commonly dubbed the “Oscars of Greeting Cards” and it feels super validating to be included here with some of the best greeting card artists in the country from companies large and small (🙋‍♀️).

A big thank you to all their volunteers, judges, and to all the other artists who participated.

Feeling the need to let go and make space, so we’re having an in-person Seconds Sale at the shop this weekend!

What is a Seconds Sale?

It includes a wide range of stuff, from the imperfect to the slightly damaged to the leftovers of designs of yesteryear. We’ve got a lot of t-shirts, wrapping paper, cards, prints, art supplies and more.

Be sure to get there early for first pick! We’ve priced everything to move out quickly.

We’re still searching for our perfect match and hoping to find them soon!

Now hiring a Weekend Retail Manager + Studio Assistant

This part-time, in-person job (roughly every other weekend) is based right here in our Brevard, NC shop and studio.

You’ll independently run the shop, chat with visitors about art and printmaking, and help finish our products with care and precision.

Pay starts at $15 an hour, with the potential to grow into more hours down the road.

If you’re detail-oriented, love art and friendly conversation, but also don’t mind a little quiet time surrounded by prints, we’d love to hear from you!

I’ve been talking to a lot of folks lately about the need to step back, pair down, and focus on the things that we actually have the ability to take action on. In all aspects of life. We’ve been talking about the need to keep an eye out for the good stuff; to not give in to despair and darkness. To not succumb to the chaos. And in a world like this, I’m glad to have friends like them (and you).

My plan is that I’m gonna keep on making drawings. Making prints and greeting cards and stickers. It’s a small thing, but I believe in it. I believe in the power of art to make connections and bring restorative joy. I believe in the power of a handwritten note. The tiny daily joy of seeing your favorite sticker on your coffee cup. Maybe you do too. If so, let’s be friends!

This card is from our newest release that just launched to our wholesale partners last week. If you’re a retailer, it’s available now on Faire, and yes we are participating in the winter market.

I made this drawing after Hurricane Helene, and wow, a lot of things have continued to go down hill since then. There have also been a lot of moments of beauty and community solidarity. Let’s not lose sight of those, and let’s see if we can’t make some more happen. Start small, and build from there. ❤️
