ArtLab ArtLab offers classes and events related to a wide variety of creative endeavors. All ages welcome . . . no experience required! Free parking. Join in the fun!

ArtLab is a place to discover, experiment and create. We offer classes and events related to all types of art. For now, we’ll focus on the visual arts, with plans to expand to creative writing, music, drama, and other forms of expression. We are also exploring combinations of practices—“Yoga at the Lab,” for example. What are you interested in learning—even if you were once told you were not an ar

tist? That’s exactly how and why ArtLab originated: Founder, director and photographer Cindi Spillman encouraging her mother to paint—to override the voice of an elementary school teacher who told her she wasn’t “good at art.” Cindi had tried her reluctant hand at a watercolor of a sunflower; Mom answered with a trio of chickens. (What else is there to do when recovering from a knee replacement?)

Come to ArtLab: Experiment with something you’ve always wanted to try. Discover new methods to enhance your current practice. Collaborate and create with others who have different skills and levels of experience.

If you’ve visited us before, come by again! New items have been added to the mix.

Furniture also available (rosewood bookshelf w/closed storage, armoire, lateral files, various seating). You might even be able to talk me out of a set of gym lockers and a digital piano. Photos to follow.

THURSDAY 3:30-5: This is a great opportunity for budding artists (or accomplished ones!) to explore new mediums, build an existing skill set, or just have some creative relaxation time after a long day at school!

We’ll have some different project/skill options ready, and students can choose what they’d like to do. Mixed media, watercolor, crochet, and other fiber based projects have been the big winners so far . . . and we have a long list of ideas to add to the mix!

Future AfterSchool programs will be built around what most excites the artists!
