Kunz Kustoms

Kunz Kustoms As a Father, I wanted to stay as active in my children's lives, as was prudent. I’ve had a 15 level anterior/posterior, spinal fusion/reconstruction.

We; my youngest son Tucker & I, started this enterprise, as a means of him earning the $10,000.00 he needed to save up, to serve a two year Mission for our Church. I am quite limited in what I am able to do day to day. Nevertheless, I wanted to share some of my skill sets with our children, in hopes that it would serve a valuable purpose in their development into responsible, contributing members

of our society. We are a small operation, especially since Tucker died as a passenger in a car accident in 2016, but we focus our attention to detail & quality on each and every creation. We are open to your suggestions, ideas, and individual requests. We respectfully request your patience, as we won't rush a creation, and sacrifice quality. Special order requests for gift giving are a fantastic idea. We ask that you get your orders in sooner rather than later, since at times the waiting list can get backed up. As you peruse our portfolio in our photo albums, & you see a style that really appeals to you, include a picture of it, as an attachment, and we will attempt to recreate it. If you see a style that catches your attention in a magazine, snap a pic and SMS it to me. Please understand though, every single creation is unique, & individual. This makes it all the more special to the recipient, or end user. We look forward to forging a long and fulfilling relationship with each of you. Contact us now.

Hello family and friends. I discovered a new reading app that uses ai (Artificial Intelligence technology) to allow you to listen, while a preferred voice reads pdf documents, textbooks, manuals, books and more! I just downloaded it on their free 3 day trial, and I’m excited for the additional access it will make available.
If this sounds appealing to you as well, just click on the link I’m supplying you with. It gives me a great discount on the app and affords you the very same thing! Now that’s my kind of plan. It’s simply referred to as the “double win” as in you win and I win. So, if this sounds like something you too want to enjoy, click this link, and begin immediately putting speechify to work for you. May you find great enjoyment too! Here ya go. Click here now:

I know this may be difficult to understand, but, since Tucker's death, I have had a hard time spending much productive time in the woodshop. it was our place. We would spend hours of productive woodworking time together. Regardless, I am attemping to be courageous, and change my mindset. I am seeing it this way: It is our place...still! It is a place I can continue to be connected to my departed Son. I can honor his memory by continuing to create heirloom quality wood crafting, like I was able to teach him to craft. It has just been a painful experience, missing him so desperately. Please don't misunderstand. I'm not seeking sympathy. I'm merely attemping to make sense of my lack of productivity. Regardless, it is my pleasure to share with you, one of my most recent creations. This is a fountain pen with a Titanium finish, for durability. The wood I chose to use as my medium is a favorite of mine, while I know many of my colleagues, who really prefer almost any other wood to work with. This is Desert Ironwood. It is famous for being an extremely dense, heavy wood. I have put together a small album, with a progression flow to the development of the finished product. I have also managed to have very nice grain match. Whenever I get the chance, I prefer to utilize wood with a LOT of character, including sapwood and heartwood, in the same finished product, displaying some very nice contrast, too!

I chose, as my background, an awesome chess set, carved by my Grandfather, Robert Kunz. He was an excellent carpenter, and the very best Grandfather anyone could ever wish for. I hope that my portion of the legacy he worked to create, is making him, my parents, sister, and other family members, proud!

Now, I present to you, Kunz Kustoms most recent creation, enjoy!

Hfrom the bin this case: Wood, Shed Antler, Horn, and Tusk. I've just had to take a break for a while. Tucker and I spent hour after hour together in the shop, making things. Now my little buddy is gone. It's been painful to spend very much time there, just yet, as it's still a little bit raw for me. At the same time, I realize that Tucker does not want me to be sad, whenever I think about our 18 years together. He wants me to celebrate it! One way I can honor him, is by continuing to engage in the things we enjoyed doing together! That is precisely what I intend to do. I acknowledge that a lot of the emotions I've been experiencing are somewhat selfish on my part. I guess I also realize that some of it is just part of the mourning process. I also acknowledge that it is only for a season. We will be reunited again. After I have finished my earthly mission as well. So, I recommit myself to honoring Tucker, by applying my talents, skills, abilities, knowledge, wisdom - (applied knowledge), and all I've been blessed with. That way, when we are reunited, we can discuss things together again. We can understand each other, way more perfectly than we were ever able to, while together in this life. So, it is in Tucker's honor and memory, that I will prevail, I will carry on, I will succeed in my endeavours. Yes, I will make a difference in this world 🌎. When my time here is completed, it is my hope, that I can leave behind a legacy. A legacy that all who know me, and call me family mem one, or friend, will be proud to say, "Yes, I know Dan Kunz, he lives a life a bit of a bad boy, but certainly, a good man."

I thought this was very inspiring, and a great all-around feature story. It is particularly of interest to me, since this is my #2 most desirable vehicle to experience, to enjoy, and truthfully, to be seen driving! Leading my list of most desirable automobiles, before the Tesla Model S, is the Maserati Quattroporte GTS. It too, is a force to be reckoned with. Sometimes I'm ridiculed for my lofty aspirations. My response: T'is better to have lofty aspirations to keep us moving forward with purpose, than to mire through each day, wondering why you even get up in the morning at all! Everyone needs something or someone they can be passionate about! As for me, I can really get passionate about being behind the wheel of either a Maserati Quattroporte GTS, or a Tesla Model S!

I sincerely hope that there are elements in your life that you can get passionate about! With today's limitless options, I sincerely hope that you too, can find your passion!

Just some more experimentation turning green wood. This beautiful wood is Lilac. Yes, that's correct! The wonderful aromatic blossoms that carry their scent in the breeze this time of year! When I turned this initially, there was scarcely a crack... anywhere! Alas it was a beautiful piece that had too high a moisture count! Even though I put several coats of finish on this piece, the dramatic change in moisture content was too extreme. What you are observing is the end result. I achieved my objective though! I created another pattern to craft in properly dried wood, I learned more about the properties and metamorphosis of green wood, and I had fun making shavings!

Once again, please disregard the cracks. My focus once more is on mastering some key design elements to incorporate into my actual pepper mill creations. I'm also experimenting with various wood and condition of those woods. Your comments, questions, and qualified critique are welcomed. Tell me what you think! Make it an amazing day!

One of my two most recent creations on the midi lathe. Please disregard the rotted out heartwood. My focus on this project was to free-form a design for a pepper mill. What I love about this piece is the exquisite grain patterns and color variation. Please feel free to comment on the design. Have a blessed Sabbath, and month of May!

This is my latest creation. It is crafted from Hickory. There was a tiny fissure in the wood, so I filled it with brass. That is the reason for the close ups. This one is in a 24K gold finish. I decided to go with gold to bring out the brass in the wood. Let me know what you think. :)
