"Art and Design Alum Inspires Featured Gallery Exhibition
When BankOnArt Gallery owner and curator Gabriele Dillmann, Ph.D., began planning a spring exhibition, it was the floral photographic etchings of recent Indiana State University MFA graduate Chloe Simma-Martin that provided the inspiration.
The resulting exhibition, BLOOM / HUM / GLOW, showcases Simma-Martin's work alongside hand-blown glass flowers by William Ortman and an immersive sound installation by fellow Indiana State MFA graduate Kevin Naylor. Several of Simma-Martin's pieces have already been sold during the exhibition, reflecting the growing recognition of her work.
Simma-Martin credits much of her artistic development to the mentorship she received from Professor Chester Burton in Indiana State's Department of Art and Design. Now, she is sharing that passion with a new generation of students as an instructor of introductory photography courses at Indiana State.
BLOOM / HUM / GLOW remains on display through June 6 and concludes with Luminous Strings with the Terre Haute Symphony, a special event integrating Nayor's sound installation into a live musical performance."
Come see and hear their work in BankOnArt Gallery in Brazil, IN. We are open Fridays and Saturdays from 11 am to 6 pm. This Saturday, June 6, we close at 3 pm for a ticketed event, Luminous Strings, by the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra.
The gallery will stay open beyond the official final day, June 6, of the BLOOM/HUM/GLOW exhibit until mid-July. Specific announcements will follow.
