It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother & grandmother Socorro Ojeda who entered into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on May 18, 2026 in Brawley, CA at the age of 90.
Born February 9,1936, in Brawley, California, to parents Brigido and Rosario she was the devoted wife of Agustin Ojeda to whom she was married 53 years prior to his passing on the same day in 2007.
Known for her commitment to evangelism her heart remained centered on her large family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many who also considered her their spiritual advisor. During difficult times she found strength in the scriptures and comfort in prayer.
In her earlier years Socorro enjoyed being active in the church. She led Women’s Ministries, held home Bible studies and participated in missionary work in Mexico, she also preached the Gospel to prison inmates and ministered to those in recovery homes.
Together with her husband they planted a church in Brawley and through their efforts were able to secure a property with a building for the newly founded church which still serves as a place of worship today.
Socorro was the last living member of her birth family. She is survived by her sons Tony & Mario. Daughters Arlene, Deborah, Corrine & Monica. Grandchildren Mario Alexander, Nicole, Romana, Stephen, Mario Anthony, Angel, Diego, Angela, Tony, Mark, Tami, Albert, Patrice, Joseph, Victoria, Travis, and Mariah; as well as 29 great-grandchildren whom she adored, as they were a source of joy in her final years. Additionally she leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends who remained close through the years.
Services will be held Friday June 12, 2026 at 10 am at Frye Chapel & Mortuary 799 S Brawley Avenue, Brawley, CA
She will be remembered for her sweet spirit, gentle strength and joyful heart. The love she poured into her family will be greatly missed, but now we rest knowing she is in the eternal glory of heaven. "Well done, good and faithful servant." Matthew 25:21
