Position: Business Development Director

Team: Advancement + Innovation

Role Overview: Reporting to the President, the Business Development Director will scout Live Venue locations for our Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly Hologram show for year-round Residency.

What You’ll Get to Do Here:

- Be a part of a team that is collaboratively contributing to the future of Icon Events Live Theater Division Growth.
- Actively participate in cross-departmental initiatives from ideation through activation stages.
- Creatively design business deals between for-profit/private sector companies and Icon Events, offering a unique opportunity in the marketplace.
- Identify and pursue prospects for sponsorship of Advancement + Innovation initiatives.
- Actively pitch and nurture long-term relationships with new partners.
- Work with Icon leadership to structure first-time, long-term deals.

You’ll Be a Fit If You Bring:

- Extensive Business Relationships in the Pigeon Forge area.
- 2 years of experience in marketing, sales and partnerships.
- Experience in a fast-paced startup/corporate environment.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and positive attitude – we are builders!
- Relationships in unique places (brand, individuals, businesses, non-profits, etc.).
- Proven success in identifying and launching revenue-generating partnership opportunities.
- Effective approach to networking and prospect outreach.
- Experience in negotiating and closing business deals.
- Curiosity for innovative business solutions and emerging technologies
- Deep understanding of the media landscape (digital, social, virtual, experiential, streaming, etc).
- Experience with content partnerships and operations.
- Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects and sponsors simultaneously, with the support of teammates and various departments.
- Industry curiosity with a consistent pulse on the arts, sponsorship investments, tech innovation, and more to bring fresh and relevant ideas and prospects forward.
