The little boy who started it all. 🤎📸
Some of you may not know the story behind MD Photo Co., so I wanted to share a little piece of my heart with you.
What started my photography journey was my son, Raiden. 🤍
I always loved taking pictures growing up. Mainly selfies, if we're being honest. 😂 But when I became a mom, something changed.
I wanted beautiful pictures of my son. I wanted to capture the little moments, the tiny details, the smiles, the laughter, and all the things I knew would change as he grew. I wanted to be able to look back years from now and reminisce about the little boy he once was.
But I couldn't afford the prices of professional family photography. And don't get me wrong, I completely understand the time, talent, equipment, and hard work that go into what photographers charge. It simply wasn't something I could afford then, and honestly, it's still not always something I can afford today.
So I decided to learn how to do it myself.
I'm a self-taught photographer. No fancy shortcuts, just a mama with a camera, a vision in her heart, and a little boy who lit a fire in me that I didn't even know was there.
Raiden gave me a purpose I never knew I needed. He inspired me to learn, to grow, to step outside my comfort zone, and to chase something that means so much to me today.
But then I realized something…
I had all these beautiful pictures of my family, but where was I?
Seriously. Where was Waldo? 😂
I WAS WALDO. Behind the lens.
I was the one capturing everyone else's memories, making sure everyone was in the frame, while rarely being in those memories myself.
And that's when everything clicked for me.
I didn't just want to take pictures of my own family anymore. I wanted to help other families, especially the mamas, who are so often the ones behind the camera, making sure everyone else has memories to look back on.
Because, mama, you deserve to be in those pictures, too. 🤎
You deserve photos with your babies. Photos with your husband. Photos of the way you held them, loved them, laughed with them, and showed up for them during these little seasons of life that pass far too quickly.
You don't have to wait until you lose weight, until your hair looks perfect, until your house is spotless, or until life feels less chaotic.
Your babies don't see the things you criticize about yourself. They see their mama. And one day, they'll want those pictures of you, too.
That is a huge part of why I do what I do.
MD Photo Co. started with a mama who wanted to capture her own memories, and it has grown into a dream of helping other families preserve theirs.
I may still be learning and growing every day, but I will never forget the little boy who started it all. 🥹🤍
So if you've ever wondered who is behind the camera, now you know a little more of my why.
And if you're a mama reading this, please take the picture. Get in the frame. Your presence is part of your family's story, too.
With love,
The mama behind the lens at MD Photo Co. 🤎📸
