Studio Holland Art

Studio Holland Art Studio now in Stone County, Missouri. Fine art for retail & personal commissions. Multiple genres and techniques are blended to produce the work.

STUDIO HOLLAND is a fine arts studio that produces digital and traditional paintings and drawings. Holland renders unchartered hyper-real images in his innovative new painting technique fit for the technological digital era. The imagery that emerges from the studio ranges from tightly rendered portraits and locals, to invented abstractions.

If you love art, and have a specific subject matter in mind, go with a custom art commission. It starts with a no-cost, no-commitment consultation. I partner with a great regional framing shop. Kirk and Mary are fantastic at Troy's Custom Framing.

Title: Seriously?!

I am attracted to faces because in many ways they’re the most familiar thing we observe and also the subject we know the least about. The artwork is drawn by observation with ink and graphite on panel board.

This is a portrait of my wife. In 2011, we had one child and were busy growing in our careers. It takes lots of patience to sit as a model, and I think this is portrayed in her expression.

All Studio Holland artwork uses high quality materials. This one includes professional gallery frame in black. Ready to mount with hardware.

Upper Dance Hall – Created for exhibition and public outreach for the 100th anniversary of Iowa state parks in 2020, Brent explores the complexities of the outdoors through an artist's lens. Identifying the ancient geographical intricacies of Maquoketa Caves State Park in Iowa, Brent weaves layers of painting & drawing that symbolically illuminate the multiple dimensions of the terrain. Partners on the project include Iowa state parks in 2020, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources; the Iowa Arts Council, a division of the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs; and Iowa State University which brought 20 artists to 20 state parks last summer.

Studio VI (detail)– steeped in the traditional practice of hand-drawn imagery by observation yet also involves digital media and a complex understanding of how depth and perspective are interpreted by the eye. This piece is drawn on multiple layers to achieve physical and perceived-depth. Conceptually, this work relies on the evolution of the image through me mark-making process. Studio VI is the accumulation of lines, in the hundreds of thousands, plus hundreds of hours of looking upon the details of the still life. The final product serves as a physical record of my visual experience and organization. On display now at
