New shop policies and security measures will now be in place. For those commenting about how dumb it was to keep those displays unlocked - you’re right. I am too trusting of people. Way too trusting. I’ve been burned enough in various aspects of life when it comes to trusting others, so I should have known better. It took today to really reinforce that I need to not trust and tighten up even more. Those displays are right near our main counter but we made a mistake and took our eyes off of the displays… but the cameras are always watching… and listening. The alarms are always set too when we aren’t there and lucky for me, I have friends in law enforcement, keeping a watchful eye too.

The next time I catch someone stealing from me, I will not drop the charges. I won’t be showing grace.

Lessons learned on my end today. Thanks to all of you that helped with this today. Sincerely.

Now if anybody wants to come to the shop this weekend and exchange money for cards, I hope you come on out and see us. I apologize my cards are not free for the taking, at least not today.

Pikachu has been returned. After doing the wrong thing, John Hopson did the right thing. I am choosing to offer grace here. This is a felony offense but maybe him being blasted online is enough of a punishment. I am dropping the charges but not deleting any posts about this incident. Regarding his friend/accomplice Calvin, I think he may have been put into a tough spot by someone he thought may have been his friend. Calvin did not take the card - John did. Calvin was cooperative and communicative with me. So, for anybody commenting/posting, please give Calvin grace too. We have all made mistakes in this life.

Thanks to all you guys for helping solve this quickly today. I will never have cards quite this valuable in the shop ever again, and I guess I can’t trust people like I want to trust them. I started this shop to chase my childhood dream, and I want this place to be fun for all. We let people look at cards in display cases when they want but we may have to rethink that strategy from now on. I need a little time to process all this.

Here are the two guys, who had been scoping out this display case for several minutes prior to this, and the only two guys that had been in this display case today, stealing the $5k Pikachu. I have multiple videos, pictures, and am now gathering video footage from outside and working to identify their vehicle. This is a felony. Once I have vehicle info from outside, I am contacting the police. You can return the card and I won’t press charges but if you aren’t back by 3:30 PM, the law will be coming after you.

To the two guys that STOLE the $5K Pikachu BGS 10 card today at 11:40 AM, I HAVE YOU ON CAMERA, inside and outside. Bring the card back IMMEDIATELY and I won't press charges. Otherwise, I'm coming after you and will pursue charges to the fullest extent of the law.
