We are excited to have Carson Mars join us for Logan Hogue Music’s Mississippi Songwriters’ Round in Downtown Brandon, MS at Gallows Bar At Genna Benna’s. The round will begin at 7 PM.

Carson Mars is a lifelong musician and songwriter from Hattiesburg, MS. He began performing and releasing music in 2017 with the band The Holly Rogers, and can currently be found as a member of Half Dollar Rodeo and The Grace Manor Haints. Drawing from inspirations such as Jason Isbell, John Prine, Jerry Jeff Walker, and various other artists with names that start with the letter J, Carson clearly has a deep love for the poetry of “mostly true” stories.

“Chad Perry spent the first half of his childhood in South MS (Carriere & Poplarville) before moving to Brandon, where he now lives with his wife and 7 month old daughter. Chad’s sound is best described as an eclectic blend of country & soulful southern rock with some pop sensibilities. Whether he’s by himself acoustically or with his backing band, the County Line Drifters (most recently voted Best Band for Hometown Rankin’s Best of the Best ‘25-‘26!) Chad’s performances never disappoint and he always delivers in his performances, keeping the crowd drawn in with every note. He will be releasing his debut single “Sweet Serenity” on all streaming platforms Thursday 1/29 with more singles on the way this year!”

Over the years, Logan Hogue Music has built a strong reputation as one of Mississippi’s premier songwriters and performers. On Monday, January 26, 2026, the talented Anse Rigby will be joining Mississippi Songwriters for the very first official writer’s round at The Gallows Speakeasy in Downtown Brandon starting at 7:00 PM.

Throughout the years, Rigby has released a multitude of introspective and thoughtful songs about life, love, and learning. We are extatic to have Anse Rigby join us to perform his original music.

I live here in the Brandon area. I am a Nurse Practitioner at UMMC. I have been writing songs for 20 years. I love the process of writing.
