Since rain and electricity don't mix, the lights will be off tonight.

Due to our unseasonably warm December weather, our GFI outlets keep tripping. We reset them and they trip again. The lights will be off the remainder of tonight. Let's hope for weather that is a little colder tomorrow.

A picture of Jody's new Christmas present. We installed a new router and the show is running. At the end of the day, it was likely a configuration issue (Jeff) that just decided it was time to be a problem. Our old router was 7 years old and transferred a ton of data.

In all fairness we have over 100 wifi/computerized devices and 60 sensors connected. Our house is smart and flashy.

Unfortunately, we continue to have issues with our router. For some reason, the lights on the west side are on and the front yard is dark. The lights will be off for the remainder of the night. Hopefully we will be back up and running tomorrow night with our new router.

It appears the problem was with our router. After restarting our router, everything appears to be running! The lights are on!

At showtime, only half of the yard lit up. At this time, we cannot figure out why. Unfortunately, the lights will be off tonight until we figure out the problem. We will post again when they are up and running.

It's been two years, and a long two at that. I'm sure the question has been, “Did they quit doing the lights?” And the answer is no.

I know it's a bit early but I look at it like investing. The longer the lights are on, the more return we get on all the time it took to put them up.

The official start will be Thanksgiving night but until then let's just say we are testing the lights in production and they are running now.

If you are putting up Christmas lights, now is the time! Well, unless you do a show, then you should have started six weeks ago. Unfortunately for us, with extra work, life activities, and a dash of snow, the light show is not going up this year.

Since January 1st falls in the middle of the week, the lights will run through Sunday, January 5th.
