~What is a memory item? Stuffed animals, pillows, or Ornaments made from materials of a departed loved one or outgrown clothing to create a keepsake. Materials can include dress shirts, t-shirts, pants, silks, velvets, suits, dresses, sweaters, flannels, jackets, ties, doilies, laces, linens, some blankets, and even some upholstery fabrics. (Show ribbons can be made into a variety of items, but require different pricing. Please ask about options and see show ribbon memory items album for some samples.) ~How to order: Please just contact me through message or email for all inquiries. Each memory item is personally made for you, and each person has special wishes or ideas about how the memory item would look for that reason I need to communicate individually with each customer about their order. The memory items vary in price, design, and size. Embroidery is also available on items for an additional cost and will depend on the embroidery desired. How you would like your memory item made is very personal, and you only get one chance to do it right. It’s very important to talk about your wishes and ideas when ordering. The materials you have available from your loved one may also determine the options for memory items as some have minimum “yardage” requirements and this will be discussed when ordering. I am able to provide accent or additional materials when needed (ex: muzzle and paw pads on a bear, material for an animal dolls head, etc.). On the rare occasion, some materials may require an additional fee due to the extra care required to transform them into a memory item. Minimum of 1 or 2 clothing items are required (depending on the size of the clothing item and the memory item requested) and types of materials supplied determines the final look of memory item. Materials must be clean but do not need to be ironed. I try my best to avoid any blemishes and (when applicable) line up patterns/stripes, but it is not always possible due to the upcycling nature of these items. ~Prices: (See Album photos for samples and detailed description of each style item) (Embroidery is also available on items for an additional cost and will depend on the embroidery desired.) The Post office has a disclaimer that things can be lost or damaged in shipping, so please do not ship anything without knowing this beforehand as I am not responsible for things until they are in my possession and once they are in the Postal Service’s possession. Postage depends on the memory item that is being ordered as items have a variety of weights. I don’t send remnants back, but if you wish to have them back, please let me know and extra postage costs are required when shipping is involved. ~Age Appropriateness: Due to the upcycled nature of the clothing and the possible use of buttons, snaps, or other materials that cannot be safety tested, some memory items are meant as an heirloom item for 13+ yrs. of age. If you allow your child to play with heirloom items, this will be at your own risk and I will not take any liability for any misuse, accidental damage or safety issues that may be caused. I do have child safe items available but child safe does not mean durable. Note: These items are all handmade on a domestic sewing machine with material you provide. I do double stitch all my seams to make them less likely to open and I also stuff them stuffing that is designed specifically for these types of items but all items have been hand sewn with upcycled materials you provide so may become loose over time. ~Refund policy: I will not begin work on any item until payment has been made. If you change your mind at any point before I commence work on your order and after you have posted your package to me, let me know as soon as you can. I can offer you a full refund (Excluding Postage costs). However, once I have commenced work on your item no refund can be given. The items are made to the highest possible standard and I would not send anything out to you unless I were 100% satisfied that the item was given the time, love, and attention that I spend on every item no matter how big or small. ~Care Advice: Although I use the washable polyester filling for my heirloom bears/items, DO NOT wash them in the washing machine or by hand as they will go misshaped and joints can be damaged. I would recommend using a damp cloth to spot wash when needed. Child safe animals can be washed, but can become misshapen or break down. Spot washing is recommended. Air dry only. Memory pillows can be taken off the pillow forms and be washed, but like all fabrics when laundered can breakdown over time. Dry on low.
