Looking back at this year, our v10 platform has shined. This past weekend Felix Fabelo won the first Fast or Nothing half mile event with a 245 mph pass with his DCT R8 along with Julio Rodriguez taking the third fastest at 229mph in his DCT R8. Felix’s car also qualified in the Elite 8 roll racing at TX2K. He was also the 2nd fastest/quickest V10 car qualified at FL2K along with hundreds of other 190-200+mph 1/4 mile passes in-between. Our V10 also powered another customer’s R8 that went to the finals of TX2K in the DCT/GTR Class 1 ELITE drag class. That R8 also was the fastest AND quickest V10 car qualified at FL2K along with it also having 100s of 190-200mph 1/4 mile passes. It’s been a year of hard competitive racing without ever having to remove the engines. A plethora of other V10 customers have been out similarly enjoying reliable and consistent performance out of their high powered engines.
These cars are all running one of our packages based on the factory cast block. Having this level of reliability is not often seen at these power levels. We have such consistent success due to well over a decade of building experience and continued development of this platform. We have had to design and manufacture many custom proprietary parts on top of altering most factory components to make this already incredible engine withstand much higher power levels reliably. Back in 2017 when we were seeing half mile speeds in the mid 240 mph, we found the factory cast block was struggling with ring seal at extreme high boost levels when only gasoline was used. We initiated and worked with Noonan Race Engineering to build a billet block that is seen out in the marketplace today. We chose to move forward with a billet block, not due to factory blocks cracking and failing at those power levels, but more for ring seal and looking to the future as we knew the power was only going to increase. The advancement in turbo technology, fuel, and the use of direct injection has made the power levels we saw back in 2017 a common occurrence now but with far less boost. We have not experienced any of the factory block cracking issues commonly talked about with other builders. It’s unknown if this is due to our understanding of the Audi Lamborghini v10 platform or due to working with quality shops that can build a tune-up that keeps the engine alive and happy.
We look forward to what 2025 will bring. We do have different packages available as not all customer’s needs are the same. High performance is our passion and our driving force, shops and customers should feel free to reach out and see if we can help your programs move in a positive direction.
