Lakewood Ranch Lemon Fish Haunt

Lakewood Ranch Lemon Fish Haunt We are a small DIY Haunted House that only appears on 10/31 for a few hours. Come by for some laughs and scares. Bring your friends.

We are a small group of Halloween enthusiasts that love being creepy and scaring the pants off of people. Most of our props are DIY and built from junk / garbage (yes, we will take your donated junk / garbage and then rebuild it to scare you). Come by during Halloween for some laughs and scares. Also, if you want to know about anything that is built here, just ask!

This is another project that's been on my list for a few years. It still needs some detailed mechanical work (routing tubing, mounting controls and regulator) but I would call this one a successful setup.

I always loved this prop from the Haunting on Virginia Ave (I think it originated from them). Today I started making my own. There's still quite a bit to do, but I'm quite happy so far!

Up next this Halloween is my homemade pneumatic 2 bar lifting mechanism. Made from the parts of an old patio umbrella. I'm pretty happy with the results. So I made 2 of them (the second one is not in this video). The aluminum from the patio umbrella is amazing. Next I'm going to try to put a scissor mechanism inside of a barrel for a pop up scare prop.

My refined scissor mechanism. Added a wide base with brackets, shoulder bolts, nylon washers, brackets and an extra scissor section.

While testing with a skeleton torso, the vertical piece of wood was bending. So I added a scrap piece of unistrut to the back side to keep it rigid. I now know why there are typically built out of metal. I'll have to learn how to weld at some point. So for now, I added my year round garage ghost for testing.

I still need to paint it black, bolt the pneumatic cylinder and add a place for weights.

After this is done, I'll move on to the 2 bar lifting mechanism.

For the past couple of years, I always wanted to build a scissor mechanism and a 2 bar lifter for my haunt. Well today is the day I made a mock up and did some quick testing. I'm calling this a success and moving on to making these props a permanent feature in my haunt!

20...19...I missed posting yesterday...so today is a double day countdown.

My garage is always in some sort of "disorganization" (or mess). But there's always a ghost in one form or another hanging out in my garage. Just have a look at my home on Google Maps! (This is one of my wife's "favorite" things.)
