Lakewood Ranch Lemon Fish Haunt We are a small DIY Haunted House that only appears on 10/31 for a few hours. Come by for some laughs and scares. Bring your friends.

We are a small group of Halloween enthusiasts that love being creepy and scaring the pants off of people. Most of our props are DIY and built from junk / garbage (yes, we will take your donated junk / garbage and then rebuild it to scare you). Come by during Halloween for some laughs and scares. Also, if you want to know about anything that is built here, just ask!

14...only 2 weeks left. So much to do, so little time. About a month ago, I scored a free 33 gallon air compressor off of the Facebook Marketplace. The "seller" said it needed a capacitor. With the help of Gemini, I figured out which capacitor I needed, ordered it off of Amazon and we're up and running. This means I need to step up my pneumatic game. Also, I scored this chest...um...from my neighbor. He was kind enough to leave it out at the curb for me. Hopefully a quick Monster-In-A-Box...but again...I don't know if I'm going to have enough time.

20...19...I missed posting yesterday...so today is a double day countdown.

My garage is always in some sort of "disorganization" (or mess). But there's always a ghost in one form or another hanging out in my garage. Just have a look at my home on Google Maps! (This is one of my wife's "favorite" things.)

22...today was a day of coding to finish up my creepy automation, so I don't have any new pictures. I'm not proud to say that it took me way too many hours to figure out the code (considering that's what I do for a living) but I now have the framework in place to use for other props. Unlike other years, I this sensor appears to be promising on some initial testing.

Keeping in line with the 0's and 1's, we counted 554 people last year. We hope to top that this year!

23...I know that this may not be an exciting Halloween specific post, but for me, this is many years in the making and I'm going to do a bit of a nerd recap, summary and celebration. So hang in there. (Also, thanks in advance for reading this!)

Over the past few years, I have tried different iterations of microcontrollers (mainly ESP32 and ESP8266) and components (mechanical relays, PIR sensors, ultrasound, microwave sensors, solenoids, MP3 players, voltage transformers, etc.) always in a giant ball of wires. This year I finally settled on an ESP32-S3 microcontroller (the brains), a LD2410C microwave sensor (presence detection), 3 MOSFETs (to turn things on and off) and YX5300 (to play audio). With the help of Grok, Gemini and the Arduino forums, I designed a circuit board to consolidate the wiring and make things simpler and cleaner. I did a ton of testing with breadboards and DuPont wires, before making the PCB order. Within 1 week I had my circuit boards. I soldered all of the components and did some initial testing and everything works as expected! I did make some minor mistakes (that will get fixed in a future iteration) but nothing that is a show stopper. Working on the code has been time consuming but I'm nearly there. I'm expecting one more day and it's back to the creepy stuff!
