Hi There,

I am Lorraine. I am a Family Physician who, after retirement, returned to her earlier love of painting and drawing. I have become an award winning artist who paints in oil but also in watercolor, pastel and acrylic. My works hang in numerous private and corporate collections and
I have been accepted into the Society of Oil Painters of America. I have studied at the Woodstock School of A

rt, the Art Students League, the Southern Atelier of Fine Art and also privately with several renowned locally and nationally known artists. In recent years my works have been accepted into a number of juried and solo shows and I have won a number of prestigious awards for my work. A number of people have commented on the fact that I seem to paint all subjects; figures, nudes, still life, cityscapes, animals, florals and landscapes. I always say “that is because I see beauty everywhere and want to capture it on canvas. The best part is sharing my excitement and enthusiasm for that beauty with those that view my art”. Have you ever noticed how people who don't paint tend to look away when they see a blank canvas?

Many of them don't even want to look at it. I believe it scares them.

I call them: The Audience.

Then again, there are others who love the empty white and can't wait to see you draw your first line or pull your first brush stroke.

I call those: The Artists.

Wherever you belong, art has the power to set you free.

That is why you run to it.
