We are thrilled to share that Sebastian won the Fish Art Contest’s highest honor this year, the Best of Show award!!! Earlier we shared that Sebastian had won the Florida Freshwater contest for the third time in a row. Then we learned that he had placed 2nd place in the national contest, and a few weeks later he was announced as the Best of Show winner across all age groups!

We would like to thank Wildlife Forever for hosting this annual contest, which raises awareness for marine conservation and encourages kids to learn about fish through creativity. We would also like to thank FWC for supporting and promoting the contest in Florida, and encouraging students to participate through various recognition programs.

A folk story is that the wahoo got its name from early sport fishermen yelling “wahoo!” when they hooked one of these hard fighting fish. Whether true or not, fishermen who have caught them know the thrill of reeling one in. Sebastian captured the beauty of these fish in this pen, markers and pastels drawing. Now available as archival giclee prints, this would make great gift for wahoo-loving anglers. Link in bio.
