Bozeman Amateur Hockey Association

Bozeman Amateur Hockey Association Providing programs for the development of quality, affordable and disciplined competitive and recreational hockey. All members are voting members.

Formed in the mid-1980s by a handful of die-hard hockey enthusiasts in Bozeman, MT, BAHA has grown with the community. Today BAHA consists of approximately 700 members, with membership defined on a 12 month basis as hockey players registered through BAHA, coaches and board members. Parents vote in lieu of their children. BAHA's principal means of supporting hockey and broadening participation in t

he sport is to operate youth and adult hockey programs that are both accessible and affordable to community members. At the same time, BAHA strives to make these programs competitive with alternative youth activities and fully compliant with USA Hockey regulations. BAHA is nonprofit service organization with the status of a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization. It is organized under the corporate name of Gallatin Hockey, Inc.. BAHA is administered by an elected board of Directors which holds regular, open meetings that may be attended by members.

We are very pleased to officially announce the new naming rights for Gallatin Ice Arena and are proud to recognize two local donors that have played a major role in the growth of our organization.

Beginning this fall, our west-side facility (formerly the Ice Barn) will be known as the Bottcher Families Community Ice Center, while the east-side rink inside Haynes Pavilion will become the Langlas Community Ice Rink.

Some FAQs are below and the full announcement can be found here: https://gallatinice.org/news/gallatin-ice-announces-new-naming-rights-for-arena-expansion-project

FAQS:

So no more Ice Barn or Ressler Rink?
>> Correct! The entire west-side facility, both building and rink, will now be named the Bottcher Families Community Ice Center.

Wasn't there already a Bottcher Rink?
>> Yes. The rink inside Haynes was the Jim Bottcher Memorial Rink. As part of the new naming structure, the Bottcher name will transition to the west-side facility.

So Bottcher is now Langlas, Ressler is now Bottcher, Haynes is still Haynes, and the whole facility is called Gallatin Ice Arena?
>> Yep! You got that? :)

When can I get back in?
>> We'll open back up in September for programs and games. We'll still be undergoing light construction on the new additions to the arena at that time. We're on track, as planned, for January 2027 occupancy for that portion of the arena (pictured here to the left of the Bottcher Families Rink).

We have two new staff members at Gallatin Ice/BAHA! They are familiar faces to many around the rink and we're excited to welcome them both into roles within the Foundation.

Melissa Robin - hockey mom, Mountain League extraordinaire, and HHL goalie - is starting as our Youth Hockey Programs Manager and will work directly with our Youth Hockey Director to facilitate programs and communicate with parents.

Katie Harmon, who you may have seen on the ice with MSU Figure Skating Club, driving the zam, or off-ice just about anywhere else, will take over the role of Administrative Manager. She will be our in-house registrar, run the BAHA website, and provide additional administrative and game-day support for the organization.

Please join us in welcoming Melissa & Katie!
