In three days a blank 45-foot wall became a colorful, sacred migration.

Gallatin Crossing invited me to create a mural & it took me about two seconds to decide on painting birds 🦢 It’s a mix of native and migratory birds that move through Montana’s migration corridor, representing the many different paths, seasons & lives crossing through this community.

I very carefully chose nine birds in flight, balancing recognizable silhouettes with my signature loose & unexpected palette. The entire mural was painted by hand across three focused painting days.

I’m booking custom murals for businesses, hospitality spaces and public-facing interiors, with one November installation opening!

When I finished this painting I remember thinking “If this doesn’t find a home right away, I don’t know my collectors as well as I thought I did.”

Eight months later…it’s still here 👀

I don’t know if I misread the painting or the timing. That magenta is deep, dark, and demanding. Not for everyone! I suspect she’s calling to those who like to feel earthy & celestial, feminine & rugged, contemporary & ancient, bold & quiet. Like pressing a bruise, crushed berries, and velvet.

This painting surprised me because the longer you look, the more it is an obvious link to my past landscape work: electric color and intuitive, expressive mark making 〰️➰

I love painting these animals as relics & threshold crossers, as signs, and this butterfly in particular as an omen for change/transformation that arrives partially before it arrives tidily and all at once.

A Cloud Is A Mountain 〰️➰

I’ll never be able to paint my landscapes exactly the same again, it became clear as hell this week my older established style has given everything it can to my body.

I’m bringing my devotion to new subjects (hello animals) and letting my same level of devotion to the land became looser and stranger brushstrokes.

And CLOUDS. I love to see the towering thunderheads over the landscape, pile up over a peak or canyon walls. I am already itching for next week when I can give them even more attention because a cloud is a mountain.

All said, here’s a love letter to the canyons, the water, and July.

Happy one year anniversary to my biggest mural ever!!

was a fantastic client & made 1200 square feet possible in the sweltering summer sun 🌞

This project took weeks, thousands of brushstrokes, & more passion and grit in the tank than I thought I had.

I still stop and think…I can’t believe I got to make that.

Like every mural before it, it changed what I believe I’m capable of.

I’m already chasing the next one 👀

The saturated palette of summer & slowwww pace has fully pulled me down into the best of this season. Feeling l u s h 🌞 🌹 🦋

This hawk piece has been circling me for weeks, begging for a big canvas. Love how it turned out—the dripping color makes it feel like the hawk flew through all my previous work to get here & picked up its magic on the way.

The butterfly also has tinges of my previous landscape work: electric color ⚡️ & the artists’ obvious hand at play.
