John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd star in this John Landis directed comedy screening for free at the Capitol this Wednesday, September 2 at 6:30 p.m! The films follows two soul-singing brothers who are sent on a "mission from God" to raise $5000 to save a Chicago orphanage. On their fund-raising tour de force, they encounter a multitude of mishaps and mayhem. Rated R. No tickets required!

We're wrapping up the month of August with more fabulous events. Here are some highlights (more can be found at warrenpl.org/events-list!):

Wednesday (8/26)
🪡🧵Kids ages 6 and up will have "sew" much fun learning embroidery at Kids Art Lab at 3 p.m. at the Lisa Rice Library. Registration is not required.
🎬🎥Come to the Capitol at 6:30 p.m. to watch the movie that helped Brad Pitt redefine his career and explore deeper character-driven roles. The film (rated R) will be followed by a Q&A with award-winning casting director Laray Mayfield.

Thursday (8/27)
🎭Students ages 12-18 (non college) are invited to the Capitol to audition for a full-length play, She Kills Monsters, beginning at 6 p.m. Registration is required and available through the library's calendar of events. Audition pieces can be found on the teen page of the library's website (https://warrenpl.org/teenagers/ ). Callbacks will be Saturday, 8/29, from 1 to 3 p.m.

⚛️✈️Join us for a NEW monthly family program at the Lisa Rice Library at 3 p.m. Wonder & Whimsy STEAM Enrichment will be geared toward homeschool families and other curious learners who would like to explore the world together. Each session will feature hands-on STEAM activities inspired by books, creativity, and discovery. This month, we will explore aerodynamics. Registration is not necessary.

Calling all teens! The Capitol Teen Theatre, in partnership with the WKU Department of Theatre and Dance, will put on a full-length production of She Kills Monsters - Young Adventurers Edition this fall, presented in special arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. Auditions will be open to students from 12 to 18 years old (non-college) on Thursday, August 27 at 6 p.m.

We've got to fan favorites coming to the big screen for free this Friday, August 21! At 5 p.m. (Rated TV-Y7), when Scoob and the gang are trapped inside a computer game, our heroes must vie with villainous video baddies and a mysterious phantom virus on a number of different levels of play. Then at 7 p.m. (Rated R), when a beautiful stranger leads computer hacker Neo to a forbidding underworld, he discovers the shocking truth -- the life he knows is the elaborate deception of an evil cyber-intelligence.
