Apparently, Clean Line Tattoos is still living rent-free in some people's heads. And honestly, we must be doing something right.
We had a customer come into the shop recently who shared some pretty interesting things with us. Apparently, someone who has spent years talking s**t about Clean Line Tattoos is STILL at it.
And when I say years, I mean YEARS.
We had barely been open three months when this individual decided to jump onto our business page and start spreading toxic bulls**t. Who does that to a brand-new business trying to establish itself?
Fast-forward a few years, and apparently this individual's shop has since closed for whatever reasons. Yet somehow, Clean Line Tattoos, along with another local shop, is supposedly part of the reason why. Apparently, we shouldn't even be in business.
Oh, and let's not forget the accusations that Tatt2John isn't clean and sober.
Seriously?
Let's get something straight.
We've never claimed to be like every other tattoo shop. In fact, we've made it pretty damn clear that we're NOT like other shops. And that's a good thing.
We've been open about being a recovery-friendly, recovery-dedicated tattoo shop since day one. We don't hide our pasts. We don't hide our recovery. We don't pretend to be something we're not. We believe people deserve second chances, and we believe in building something meaningful with those chances.
Unfortunately, not everyone in this industry appreciates that.
And over the years, we've experienced our fair share of bulls**t.
Other shops talking badly about us to customers. Gossip. Rumors. Unprofessional behavior. Calls to the health department. People actually showing up at our shop attempting to intimidate us.
And yes, the irony of calling the health department on a shop whose manager actually works for the health department isn't lost on us. 😂
But here's the thing.
WHO THE F**K CARES?
Seriously. What exactly is all of this supposed to accomplish?
The tattoo industry has been cutthroat for as long as anyone can remember. Competition, egos, jealousy, drama, and people who would rather tear someone else down than focus on building themselves up.
We just don't have the time or energy for it.
We're too busy running a business, raising families, supporting recovery, building relationships, taking care of our customers, and trying to make a positive impact in our community.
Clean Line Tattoos isn't just a business to us.
We're an actual family. Not just a bunch of people sharing a building and collecting money.
We care about one another. We care about our customers. We celebrate milestones, support people through struggles, laugh together, and show up for one another.
We have a mission that goes far beyond putting ink in skin or jewelry in piercings.
We want people to walk through our doors and feel welcome, respected, comfortable, and accepted. Whether you're 20 years into recovery, one day sober, have never struggled with addiction, or simply want a damn good tattoo, you're welcome here.
And the people who actually know us? They already know exactly who we are and what we stand for.
Our customers don't need another tattoo shop to tell them what to think about us. They can decide for themselves.
And apparently, they have.
Because despite all the negativity, all the gossip, all the attempts to discredit us, and all the people who apparently believe we shouldn't exist...
WE'RE STILL HERE.
Not only are we still here, but we're growing. Our business continues to grow stronger, our customer base continues to expand, and we're continuing to build something we're genuinely proud of.
We don't need another shop to close for ours to succeed. We don't need to trash another artist to make ours look better. And we certainly don't need to question someone else's sobriety to feel better about our own lives.
There's enough room in this industry for everyone willing to put in the work.
And if our existence bothers someone so much that they're still talking about us years later, even after closing their own doors, that's something they'll have to work through themselves.
We're not responsible for someone else's business failing, and we're certainly not responsible for their resentment.
After hearing everything we heard, I actually came to a pretty simple realization.
We must be doing something right.
Because while some people are still talking about Clean Line Tattoos, we're over here actually BUILDING Clean Line Tattoos.
To our customers, friends, supporters, and everyone who has believed in us since the beginning, thank you. You're the reason we continue doing what we do.
And to anyone who has ever been told their past makes them unworthy of success, respect, or a second chance, don't believe that bulls**t.
Your past doesn't have to define your future.
We're Clean Line Tattoos. We're not like other shops. And that's a GOOD thing.
