Every Monday night, cowboys and cowgirls from across North Texas gather at Silver Strings Dance Hall to learn, practice, and preserve one of the greatest traditions of our Western heritage: Cowboy Social Dancing.
This weekβs focus is Slack Round Training for the Classic Division of Cowboy Dance Rodeo. We will be working on Cowboy Weaves, Double Spins, and Inside Outside Turns while refining the skills competitors need to succeed in upcoming PCSDRA Slack Rounds.
Whether your goal is competition or simply becoming a better social dancer, these are timeless cowboy patterns that belong in every dancerβs toolbox.
From 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, weβll focus on lead and follow positions, footwork for Two Step, Triple Step, and Waltz, how to properly travel the floor, and understanding the Opportunity Zone.
This training is designed to help dancers sharpen their fundamentals, improve confidence, and prepare for qualification opportunities leading up to the PCSDRA Silver Strings Cowboy Dance Rodeo on August 15, 2026.
Then from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, enjoy live music and dancing with The Ole Troubadours. There is nothing quite like learning a skill and then putting it to work immediately on a real dance floor with real western music.
Every Monday night is another opportunity to improve your footwork, strengthen your connection, refine your floorcraft, and become the kind of dancer others enjoy sharing the floor with.
Whether you are preparing for rodeo competition or simply carrying on a cherished western tradition, Silver Strings is where the journey continues.
Doors open at 5:00 PM.
Bring your boots.
Bring your friends.
