The BCPA Community Chorus was last featured in our December 2023 production of A Christmas Carol and will be gearing up to perform as part of our 2nd Annual Bowie Center Arts Festival, coming up on April 20th (more on that below).

If you are interested in auditioning, you may email [email protected] to set an appointment for this evening, or just drop by the BCPA between 5:00-7:00 pm tonight. Please prepare an acapella selection and be ready to work with our Music Director. The Community Chorus is open to all ages!

Important Dates

Auditions:
February 28th, 5:00-7:00pm
Rehearsals: March 12, March 19, April 2, April 9, April 16, 5:00-7:00pm
Performance: April 20th (Time TBA, but probably around 2pm)

We hope you’ll come out and join this wonderful group of singers and arts lovers. We’ll see you this evening!

Another face you will see today at the Opening show of “A Christmas Carol”

Come on out to see the magic✨

Amariya Kailo, is a proficient musical theater performer and model. She has been performing all her life from a very young age. Her upbringing to place at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) and John Casablancas Model and Talent Management. Her dream goals are to originate a role on broadway, perform at sights and sounds theater in lancaster PA, do voice overs for video games, and cartoons and with the money made renovate buildings for homeless people where they are able to have that second chance they deserve!

Next up in Marcus, Marcus Wilder (Bob Cratchet) is very excited to return to the Bowie Center stage and work with such a talented cast and crew. He has acted in shows such as West Side Story(Bowie Center), The Wiz(Bowie Center), and Working: A Musical(Bowie Center). He was also an acting instructor at Broadway Bound summer camp at the Center. He studied at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA NYC). .wilder_

Excitement and anticipation are building for the BCPA’s own production of A CHRISTMAS CAROL, with performances coming up soon on December 2-3! We’re continuing to spotlight members of our acting company, who are bringing this magical, musical world to life for our audiences. Today, we can’t wait to introduce you to our very own Fezziwig!

Gloria Gaddy (Fezziwig) has a love for the theater that began in the 60’s, when she was selected to perform
with Vaudeville in Columbus, Ohio. Moving to Washington, DC she stayed connected to the arts by joining the “Majestics,” a gospel performing arts choir
performing all over the DMV, as well as nationally and internationally. Entering her golden years, she has not stopped! You may remember seeing her as the “Griot” at the City of Bowie’s 2023 Juneteenth Celebration. She’s written and performed many skits and plays at the Bowie Senior Center and is excited to now be performing at the BCPA as Fezziwig!

Tickets are selling fast for the BCPA’s own production of A CHRISTMAS CAROL, coming up soon on December 2-3! As we continue to spotlight members of our cast and team, today we’re introducing the actor Performing Jacob Marley!!

Matthew Pauli (Jacob Marley) is an actor, clown, and puppeteer. In the DC area, he has performed with Faction of Fools, Constellation Theatre, Imagination Stage, The Folger Theater, The Shakespeare Theatre, Washington National Opera, and Everyman Theatre in Baltimore, among others. He is also one of the founders of Clown Cabaret, a performance laboratory for developing clown work. He toured for six seasons with Big Apple Circus and is a Red Nose Doc for Healthy Humor Inc, performing clown rounds at Johns Hopkins Hospital and National Children’s Medical Center.

Shaquille Stewart is honored to be returning to the BCPA for The Christmas Carol alongside such a talented cast of actors, singers, and musicians. An avid theatre creator and deviser, he spends his free time writing, making beats, and bringing artists together through devised theatre. Previous credits include Something Moving: A Meditation on Maynard(Ford's Theatre), The Codeswitch(Sisters Freehold), The Complete Works of Shakespeare Abridged Revised, Again(Chesapeake Shakespeare Company) Do You Feel Anger(Theatre Alliance) Macbeth(,PG Shakespeare in the Parks) Othello(National Players Tour 69) Mlima's Tale(1st Stage)

Gary DuBreuil (Ebeneezer Scrooge) is a professional actor in the DC-Baltimore area and a proud resident of Bowie, returning to the BCPA after directing The Seaside Adventures of Zoey Brine in 2022. He has acted with many companies across the region, including Chesapeake Shakespeare Company, Constellation Theatre, Keegan Theatre, 1st Stage, NextStop Theatre, Prince George's Shakespeare in the Parks, Annapolis Shakespeare, and many others. He has also toured nationally and performed around New England and Minnesota's Twin Cities.
