Are you curious about clay but feel like a total beginner? Not sure where to start? We have three great options this fall. Ceramics 101: A Beginner’s Guide to Clay had sections on Monday evenings, 6-9pm and Tuesday mornings 9:30-12:30. This class is a great survey of the pottery wheel, basic handbuilding techniques and an introduction to glazing. This class is perfect for those folks who have never touched clay, never done anything art related at all, and those who may have done some clay classes in their distant past. Some folks also take this class a couple of times because we learn A LOT.
The other option is Exploring Handbuilding on Wednesday afternoons, 1-4. This class is a little slower paced, focussing on the handbuilding techniques of slab, coil and pinch, and how they can be combined. Glazing is also covered. This class is good for beginners, advanced beginners and intermediate students. Alexa will meet you where you are.
