My Grandfather was a refugee from Estonia, fleeing the Soviets.

While he lived in Sweden most of his childhood before coming to the USA as an adult, Estonia is where my heritage lies.

The Estonian national flower is the corn flower, which represents hope for the future.

The national bird is the barn swallow, which represents: love, affection, loyalty, freedom and care.

Peonies are so beautiful! I planted a sprout+root in my front garden but I'm pretty sure it's dead already. Anybody have good tips for how to not kill them? I have the least Green thumb of anyone I know 🤦
