As the green world withdraws into the earth and the biting cold begins to set in, after the harvest and as we move toward darkness, it is an important time to have strong containers to hold us in our grief. Grief work is soul work, and if you are feeling the longing to tend soul, consider joining us for a holding that includes poetry, wilderness connection, story, song, ritual and movement practices.

Snakes have slithered into my life as of recent, slipping into my mythic journey and dreamscape. What am I shedding? I’m not quite sure if I can articulate it but i can feel a very deep somatic experience of letting go of layers of self that no longer fit, as if I’ve outgrown the skin I have been wearing for a long time. It’s subtle and profound. Fall is a time of shedding, as the leaves shake free from the trees. In this dark moon time, “I release, I let go, I let spirit guide my flow.” ~Fantuzi Join me in the next six week online grief pilgrimage beginning November 16th 3-5pm.

The sweet smell of locust blossoms is a goddess all on her own, wafting through the air, seductive and uplifting. And then to taste that sweetness….such a short lived but powerful late spring presence she has!

We are in a time on planet earth, that “we’d be a people
gone mad, if we did not grieve,” as poet Laura Weaver puts it.
The Walking with Grief retreat is intended to offer a space to deepen your relationship with this big human experience we call grief, to be with our grief in ways that are soulful and generative. There is a magic that happens when we come together to share our most tender stories, to be witnessed by each other and by the land. Come join me in re-imagining a culture of grief literacy. retreat

This is a quote from one of my favorite Rilke poems that reveals, through such powerful imagery, the value in challenge, hardship, pain, grief. It speaks of the old wisdom of knowing that what batters us can be the catalyst, the prima materia, the initiatory path to finding our strength, our song, our give away.

Let this darkness be a bell tower ~Rainer Maria Rilke

Quiet friend who has come so far, feel how your breathing makes more space around you.
Let this darkness be a bell tower and you the bell. As you ring,
what batters you becomes your strength.
Move back and forth into the change.
What is it like, such intensity of pain?
If the drink is bitter, turn yourself to wine.
In this uncontainable night,
be the mystery at the crossroads of your senses,
the meaning discovered there. And if the world has seized to hear you, say to the silent earth; I flow. To the Rushing water, spea; i am.
