eTown, the internationally syndicated radio broadcast, podcast, and multimedia- and events-production nonprofit, launched on Earth Day 1991 in Boulder, Colorado. Since then, eTown has produced musical, social, and environmental programming all focused on its ongoing global mission—to educate, entertain, and inspire a diverse audience through music and conversation in order to create a socially res

ponsible and environmentally sustainable world. Prior to the pandemic, eTown recorded shows in front of a live audience in eTown Hall, a 17,000 square foot former church in downtown Boulder which has been renovated and transformed into a solar-powered performance and recording facility—likely the only zero-carbon facility of its kind in North America. On April 22, 2021, eTown will host its 30th b’Earthday Celebration live stream which includes an induction into Colorado Music Hall of Fame. eTown is aired on over 300 radio stations nationwide, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Podbean, Vimeo, on Facebook and Twitter , on Instagram , on YouTube, as well as at www.etown.org.

What does Colorado music sound like?

New this week on eTown, we explore that question with artists whose paths have helped shape the state's musical landscape.

The Infamous Stringdusters celebrate twenty years together with music from 20/20, a collection of 20 songs marking 20 years of exceptional musicianship. The Grammy-winning band continues to push forward from their bluegrass roots.

Daniel Rodriguez shares songs from Harboring Pearls, an album exploring the uncertainty and self-discovery that comes with forging a new path. Since stepping out on his own after Elephant Revival, Daniel continues to develop his voice as a solo songwriter and performer.

Plus, eTown host Nick Forster speaks with The Venerable Bhikkhu Paññākāra, the Buddhist monk who led a 2,300-mile Walk for Peace from Fort Worth, Texas to Washington, D.C.

Over 108 days, he and fellow monks crossed nine states on foot, sharing a message of mindfulness, compassion and inner peace. Their journey began on October 26, 2025, and concluded in Washington, D.C. on February 10, 2026.

Music, reflection and a little wisdom for the journey, all week on the radio and podcasts.

For this week’s finale, Fruition, Madeline Hawthorne, Nick, Helen and the eTones perform Sly & The Family Stone’s “Everyday People,” a song that reflects on difference, common ground and what connects us. A classic that remains as relevant as ever.

We’re looking forward to sharing a brand new episode with you all, beginning tomorrow, with The Infamous Stringdusters and Daniel Rodriguez, plus a really timely interview.

We are excited to welcome Willis Alan Ramsey on Saturday, July 25 at eTown Hall.

More than fifty years after the release of his landmark 1972 debut album, Willis Alan Ramsey’s songs continue to shape the worlds of Texas folk, country and Americana.

His work has been recorded and championed by artists including Lyle Lovett, Jimmy Buffett, Shawn Colvin, Waylon Jennings and Jimmie Dale Gilmore, while his own recordings remain touchstones for generations of songwriters and listeners alike.

As Shawn Colvin once said:

“Everybody owned his record when I lived in Austin. That’s because it’s great and them Texans knew it.”

From her 2024 album Tales From Late Nights & Long Drives, Madeline Hawthorne’s "Where Did I Go Wrong” is built around rugged twang and raw vulnerability, tracing hearts that close “like the start of a winter’s night” and the search to “find my way at the bottom of a bottle.” This video comes from our time with Madeline, who is on the radio and podcasts with us this week.

June 20 at eTown Hall, Delicate Steve with special guest Inaiah Lujan.

Delicate Steve’s instrumental and guitar-driven songs move through shifting melodies and loose arrangements and are guided by instinct. That same spirit has taken him from studio collaborations with Amen Dunes to touring with Tame Impala and Mac DeMarco.

Inaiah Lujan is a Colorado singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose solo work mixes blues, folk and punk roots with Latin grooves, soul, reggae and vintage pop influences.
