Happy opening to CU Bouler Eklund Opera Program's CU NOW Workshop! 🎶

CU NOW is often a student’s first professional opportunity to implement their academically prepared skills in a familiar setting with Eklund Opera support staff. 🎼

This year, CU NOW welcomes Pulitzer Prize- and Grammy Award-winning librettist Mark Campbell, a CU Boulder alum, together with Italian composer Alberto Caruso, for a workshop of “The Late Signor Zanetti,” a comic thriller set in Venice in 1823. 🤩

When the titular character, a horologist, attempts to repair a pocket watch left in his shop by a mysterious stranger, the activities of his typical evening take a surprising and surreal twist. 🕰️

The Composer Fellows’ Initiative (CFI) inspires College of Music composition students to explore the opera medium under professional mentorship. Participating composers’ short opera scenes develop under the guidance of CU NOW industry titans and are then rehearsed, staged, costumed and performed within the summer festival of CU NOW.

Thank you, thank you to our Takács patrons and supporters this season! ⭐️ 🎻

We are so proud and grateful for the Takács Quartet and the beautiful music they perform each season at CU.

We hope this season was especially memorable as we bid a bittersweet goodbye to András Fejér, who completed his time with the quartet after performing with them for the last time, last week. Thank you, thank you, András, for all your integral contributions and longtime musicianship with this group. ♥️

The warmest welcome to Mihai Marcia, who will be joining as the quartet’s new cellist. We are so excited for a new chapter of Takács as they continue to share incredible music and high-scale performance each season at CU! 🎶

We hope to see you all in Grusin starting back up in the fall!!

It’s time to dance!!! And dance they did… 🪩💃

CU Boulder Theatre and Dance’s “The Prom” closed April 19th. The production showcased exemplary musical and theatrical work, along with a captivating set, lighting, props, wardrobe, makeup and hair. 🪩

Hats off to everyone who was a part of this production, closing out the Department of Theatre’s season for Spring 2026! 👏👏👏

Congratulations to both casts, the crew, and the production team of CU Boulder Eklund Opera’s The Cunning Little Vixen 🦊.

The production, which closed on April 19th, featured an enchanting forest scene, beautifully telling this Czech story with detailed costumes, set design, lighting, hair, and makeup. Congratulations!! 🥳 👏
