Winter is approaching, so I felt compelled to illustrate the coziest and cuntiest of all, Alexis Carrington. This woman was ON THE PHONE and she was also decked out in bed all the damn time. I recommend a winter rewatch of Dynasty (the OG, not the reboot)
She was definitely a terrible person but her outfits and comebacks were so good.

I’ve been working on a calendar for next year and it’s been really really fun. Pre sale will be open soon, but first, some sketch outs for you.
A little bit astrological, a little bit textural, a little scrapbook, a little synesthesia. I kept trying to narrow down a theme, but the real is that I like to pick a song, let it move through me, and draw to it for hours (or days or years) until it’s complete. Sometimes I use archetypes to guide me (tarot, astrology, elements) and I have very strong opinions about what colors and personalities correlate to each number. So thats the theme. Two years ago I posted this and said “My goals next year are to use all my art supplies, finally have a solo show, and get these breasts off my body before they kill me. But first I’m gonna paint them a million times because I love them and I’m really gonna miss em.“
And I did that?! I mean actually I didn’t use all my art supplies, in fact I’m cutting myself off from buying more. But I taught myself to use gouache, and then had a solo show with those paintings. And also had that surgery that prob saved my life?!
You know what else? I started and abandoned The Artists Way for the last time. F that book. I feel liberated admitting that.

Samples of what’s to come, ideas I’m floating, letters, etc. This one is heavy on the watercolor pages, something I’ve been having a lot of fun with, both making for you, and using myself. It’s the only way I can turn my brain off these days.
My studio days are very different than they used to be and it’s a learning experience but very gratifying. And I have So. Much. Stuff.
Very excited about the holidays (for once) and feeling actually kind of prepared (also for once)
The more AI I see in this world, the more I want to create with my hands and my heart. Thank you for the support that helps me do that. I love being an artist even when I want to drive into the sea. And it means so much to be able to do this ❤️

When I was in high school I wrote “I’m a fountain of blood in the shape of a girl” on not one, but two notebooks because I needed you to know that. And then in like 2004 or whatever I used it as my song on my MySpace page. And then a couple years ago, I was about to have a hysterectomy and drew this while listening to that song a lot, and now I’m posting it with this song. So anyway I’m a 43 year old teenager and this song is still really good and I need you to know that I’m a fountain of blood in the shape of a girl.

Bathing Ladies of Budapest
I think I actually need to do a whole series of the women I saw in the baths in Budapest. Now that a few years have passed and my memoirs are hazy, I can really make them into characters rather than try to draw them exactly how I remember them.
I love letting memories settle into my mind and heart and then drawing from them. Never exact, always romanticized. It’s the best part of drawing from experience❤️
Ps this is becoming a watercolor sheet as we speak and I cannot wait! First editions of all my new stuff go straight to my paid substack subscribers. Handmade packages going out this week!
