I love mythology but I don’t connect with a lot of the modern mythical art, so I’m basically just drawing them as cool magical people in outfits I want to own. I could literally just put that in bio because that’s why I make art.

This is Tsovinar conjuring a storm at sea. She’s always depicted in this exaggerated furious state, but all women know quiet, contemplative rage is the real deal.

This robe was inspired by Sayoko Yamaguchi in a vintage ad for Shiseido and I need to make these shoes.

I drew this little thing in a trance. I just saw this pic of my mom’s gravity defying hair and off I went. Not a portrait, just a seed from which another massive hairdo sprouted. That’s how it usually goes, I see something and I have to transform it in my head and make it my own. I’m trying to explain more of my process on TikTok but when I hear myself, I sound completely deranged. Passionate and very excited, but totally deranged. Maybe that’s cool anyway?

The mind map I used to get to this drawing was so ridiculous and I’m working on making a video about it, but whenever I talk into the camera about mythology and fashion, I look like that Charlie from it’s always sunny meme.
This isn’t even done, I just needed to give the gram some love because I’ve been living my life and the algorithm hates that.

Prob the most miserable self portrait I’ve ever done but I have to admit I nailed it. I was les mis, but actually I’m pretty sure this is my resting face anyway. I’m much more at peace now. Crazy what a year can do 💅

Closing up shop for a little refresh/rebirth/restock and I’ve added a new print to my site to kick off my hiatus. Mnemosyne prints are limited to 15 and everything else on there has only one or two left. I may bring some of these back some day temporarily but if you’re eyeing something this is likely the last chance!
I’m so attached to all my work, I’m having such a hard time letting go. It’s so funny, they’re like my little babies that all mark certain times in my life, but lots of changes are afoot for me and I gotta keep it moving.
I’m excited, I have lots of new ideas and this creative fog has been lifted thank god. In the meantime I’m going to channel this vibe. Sprawling, freshly showered, drinking coffee topless. It’s officially summer and I think we could all use a little of this energy.

Mnemosyne, goddess of memory, mother of the nine muses. One of her myths says she offers a drink to souls passing through Hades. A sip from her river makes you remember everything about your life, and a drink from the river Lethe will make you forget. What you take or leave behind in the afterlife is your choice and you can only choose once. Wisdom or a clean slate?There’s so much symbolism in that about women leading people through birth and also death, choices, karma, addiction, trauma, romanticism etc. I could probably just draw upon her stories forever.
On her lap is a bundle of rosemary, symbolically and medicinally associated with memory and remembrance.

This print will be available Friday 6/21 for the weekend (or until it sells out, whichever happens first) and then I’m taking closing my shop for a short break.

Print drop is live! I brought back Astghik for a minute. She’s easily my most requested and hasn’t been available in two years! less than 5 available this time around.
This print release is small but important to me. The past year was difficult in many ways, and felt impossible to squeeze art out at times because things were just heavy, but what I did make meant a lot, and hopefully flow continues. Thank you for the continued support through all the pivots and styles that sometimes don’t make sense together but make sense to me. And thank you for all your kind words lately. ❤️
