DUE THIS FRIDAY - now casting SWAN, a play by with dramaturgy by ! Presented as a workshop production in Moonbox Productions’ Boston New Works Festival June 22-25.

Performances: June 22-25 at the Boston Center for the Arts

SYNOPSIS: If you had to give up everything you knew, everyone you loved, to be something you didn’t understand…would you? SWAN is a fantastical, darkly comedic retelling of Swan Lake that follows Richard, a Korean American college student, and Aiden, a moderately YouTube-famous white tradwife. Their dreams are haunted by a mysterious voice called Swan, who invents dreamscapes of the past and future. Aiden attempts to fight off these visions, while Richard is drawn deeper into Swan’s narrative. Both are forced to confront their fears of the future, the q***rness they’ve buried, and their need to be who they truly are, even if that means becoming monstrous.

Please submit your audition at: bit.ly/swanauditions

You will be asked to upload a headshot/photo, resume, and a video link of you performing a contemporary 1-2 minute monologue OR a reel of past performances.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Friday, May 5

ISCARIOT: THE MUSICAL re-imagines Judas Iscariot as a q***r Asian American high school senior who falls in love, betrays his best friend, and learns to take control of his own narrative. Set in a glitzy high school in modern-day Hollywood, with a diverse musical score incorporating pop, rock, and folk elements, ISCARIOT is a new interpretation of the Biblical canon and a commentary on race, class, and celebrity culture.

We invite you to fill out the 2022-2023 Greater Boston Asian American and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) Theater Artist Survey!

Co-spearheaded with Asian American Theater Artists of Boston and CHUANG Stage, the Greater Boston Asian American and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) Theater Artist Survey is an appreciative inquiry for our local pan-Asian artists to identify our cultural vibrancy in Boston as a diverse and growing collective, and an invitation for all of Boston's theatremakers to listen, recognize, and take actions on co-building an equitable arts and culture ecosystem as a part of Boston's future.

This survey is designed for Asian American and Pacific Islander theatre artists at all stages of their careers. With this survey, we will begin to build a database of AAPI artists connected to the Greater Boston area; a separate report will be shared with institutions/theatre companies/grant-makers to map out continued support and track change-making, community growth, and impact over time.

Please fill out this 5-10 minute survey by OCTOBER 1! Link here: https://forms.gle/P9E44gNh7qXzaxbA7 and in bio!
