🥰Oh What a night for the 7th Annual L'Arche Boston North The Longest Table Haverhill, and boy will this one stay with me for a long time!
I was fortunate to work with the committee and planning team to help shape the flow of the evening. But the part I felt the greatest responsibility for was the Fund-A-Need paddle raise🏓
Asking people for money💲is no easy task, but my job was to help everyone in the room understand what different levels of giving could actually mean for this community and then ask people to step up, raise those paddles, and support the mission. And thankfully the crowd responded!
The energy in the room took over, and paddle after paddle went up, people giving with their hearts, and by the end of the evening we had helped raise more money for than ever before at this event.
There were also many moments reminding me and everyone WHY we were there. An emotional video showing L’Arche core members living, working and enjoying life together. A wonderful dance demonstration by one of their members. And a great recognition moment for Tom Mortimer a deserving L'Arche & community hero.
As an Emcee, there are nights when your job is simply to keep the program moving, and then there are nights like this, when you get to help tell a story, build excitement, create a connection and hopefully inspire people to make a difference.
Congratulations to the entire L’Arche Boston North team, the planning committee led by Melissa Cerasuolo, all the volunteers, sponsors & restaurants, the core members and everyone who came together around one very special Longest Table.
