The Golden Age of Pirates Collection is now available for preorder!

This collection is so special to me - it's taken months of planning and a lot of interesting creative energy to make this inspiration come alive! These 10 colors feel so connected and cohesive, and I can really see myself coming alive as a full-time dyer. Thank you for all your love for these colorways already! I'm very very excited to get this yarn onto your hooks and needles 🥹
The preorder will be open for a week or until I hit my order cap, whichever comes first! Turnaround should be 4-6 weeks. I'll post on here if either of those things changes!

SWATCHES! (And mini sets)
Thank you for your patience as I finished up collection swatches! I wanted to make sure that I worked them up intentionally. I also want to apologize for not having crochet swatches! I'll try to get some granny squares done by the end of the weekend so you can see how they look. Each swatch is worked up using my Kitten DK base and size US 6 needles, and the full size skeins shown in each picture are on my Feline Sock base.
The last slide here shows the mini sets that I will have available for this collection! Each set comes with one mini in each of the tonal colorways - these minis are also on my Feline Sock base, a high-twist fi*****ng weight containing 85% superwash merino and 15% nylon. Each mini is 20g and 79yds, so the whole mini set adds up to one full size skein.
Collection is available for preorder TOMORROW October 9th at 7pm EST!

WIP WEDNESDAY 10/7/26
Sorry for all the posting but I'm trying to stay on top of my weekly updates! It's so fun to have all my projects this week be my yarn 🧶 I made good progress on my Alchemist Pullover during all our driving this past weekend, and of course I had to start a new sweater ahead of the Golden Age of Pirates collection launch 🏴‍☠️🌊

CLARE ISLAND 🌊💙🍃
We've reached the final color in this collection, and it's another nod to Irish legend and pirate queen Grace O'Malley/Gráinne Mhaol ☘️ the only daughter of the clan leader, Grace was involved in her family's piracy and plundering missions from early on. As she grew in power, she led her fleet not only in matters of piracy, but also in business and politics. She built up her family's trading links with Spain, rallied the clans, and eventually lead rebellions against the English crown. She was also able to secure a meeting with Queen Elizabeth I in order to free one of her sons, restore rights to her lands, and guarantee freedom to continue her seafaring activities. Gráinne Mhaol's home was Clare Island, off the western coast of Ireland. This was the O'Malley clan's longterm land, and the family castle became Grace's stronghold.

SECRET SWEATER REVEAL!!
I've been teasing this sweater for a month and a half and I can finally show you 😍 cast on at the beginning of our honeymoon, this is the Lanolines Sweater by Claire Jackson knit up using the 5 tonal colors from the Golden Age of Pirates Collection! I used my non-superwash Whisker DK base for this garment, and it turned out perfectly. The fabric is really soft and flowy thanks to the large gauge of the project and the great texture that this base has. More yardage details are in my Ravelry project, but I used just over 2 skeins of "Shiver Me Timbers" as my MC and about half a skein each of the other tonal colors. I also used "Seven Seas" for the sleeve cuffs instead of the MC. All of the colors really shine and I've been wearing this sweater all weekend already! It's such a cozy sweatshirt vibe, I love it so much.

BURIED TREASURE 💛🪎👑
Did you know that buried treasure is actually more of a popularized literary trope than an actual pirate practice? There are very few actual examples of pirates burying their plunder (with Captain Kidd as an exception - he did hide some of his fortune on Gardiners Island off of New York), and almost no treasure stashes have been authenticated or found. However, buried treasure that can only be found with a mysterious map is a trope that has burrowed its way into our consciousness now, so it had to be part of this collection!
