Sitka Home I believe every painting that I create has a story. When you step into the gallery, you don't just see art, you feel it. IG: sitkahome_

Art creates emotion, sparks conversations, and turns everyday spaces into places you'll never want to leave.

A life lived in color.

Thrilled to be featured in the October issue of American Art Collector Magazine.

For more than 40 years, painting has been my way of seeing the world, through color, light, movement, and joy. This feature represents a small part of my journey, the experiences that have shaped me as an artist, and my philosophy that continues to inspire my work today.

You can find my Artist Focus on page 115, and Triumph of the Waves featured on page 17.

Thank you to American Art Collector for sharing my story and my art.

Moody Blues
48 x 36 in.

A quiet pond where the deep blues of the water disappear into the trees, where the moon light glows in the distance, and for a moment, everything becomes still.

I painted “Moody Blues” not exactly as my eyes saw it, but as I felt it. Mysterious, peaceful, almost dreamlike. A place where color carries you beyond what is visible and into something you can only feel.

That is the magic I search for when I paint.

“Triumph of the Waves”
40 × 30 in.

The intensity of the colors I created at the top of the canvas began to shape the entire painting for me.

There is something romantic about watching a sailboat move slowly toward the horizon as the sun slowly sets. It reminds me of those moments in the movies when you see the sails in the distance, the evening light surrounding them, and everything feels peaceful.

I’ve always preferred sailing to being on a speedboat. Sailing gives you time to experience the water, the movement, the colors around you, and the sunset itself.

That is the atmosphere I wanted this painting to hold.

Color, movement, and a little romance at sea.

What feeling does this painting give you?

“Oh, so you’re an artist?”
Yeah. 🎨
“Are you good at it?”
I’ll let the paintings answer that one.

For me, being an artist has always been about more than knowing how to paint. I’m a colorist. Color is how I tell stories, create emotion, and bring a canvas to life.

Come see the answer for yourself at Sitka Home Art Gallery on Newbury Street, Boston.
