In our main gallery this October, Elif Soyer invites us into a garden of unusual blooms: paint from the corners of her studio, scraps of torn newspaper, and passing thoughts written along the surface – all resting on beds of metal grates. Soyer did not originally plan for the garden theme, originally intending to create a body of work that made use of the paint and materials that had laid unused in her studio. A year into creating the series, she began to see the harmonies between the colors and textures, reminding her of her garden at home, which functions not only as a space of beauty, but a haven for native pollinators.

Our October gallery exhibits open this Friday with a reception from 5-8pm. We will have Elif Soyer: Native Pollinators, in the main gallery; Debra Samdperil: All is not Lost, in the center gallery; and Amy Kaczur: Flux and Flow, the Great Marsh, in the project space.
Though working across varied mediums—from thick sculptural paint with accumulated media, to gestural abstract painting to immersive video projections and sound art—all three artists converge on themes of organic accumulation, transformation, and dynamic ecosystems.
Join us on Friday October 2 to celebrate these three exhibitions - we hope to see you there!

In our Main Gallery this month structure and fluidity collide in The Shape of Things, an exhibition of paintings by Linda Cordner. The organic spontaneity of layered media and the deliberate construction of shape and line are balanced in the work. The Shape of Things captures a palpable tension between movement and stillness—remnants of ideas partially obscured, yet essential to the final composition.

Come and talk with Linda on September 19 from 2-4pm for a meet and greet with all the artists showing this month.
Gallery hours Wed-Sun 12-5pm.
